Account hijackers would love this feature.

Also, your Steam account isn't a business and shouldn't be treated as such.

A way to launder money will never happen.

Steam wallet currency is exclusive to the Steam platform once you have added the funds.

It will never be possible to convert wallet funds back to real money.

This would help scammers & phishers to money launder, so I don't believe they'll ever do that.

Never going to happen.

Sorry but Valve does not take part in money laundering so it's never going to happen.

This will never happen which is a good thing.

This would be a huge hit with scammers and probably increase the amount of criminals looking to exploit users.

That would not only require Valve to gain a banking license, it would also require them to implement severe restrictions and regulations to make sure it is not abused to launder money.

1. Steam isn't a bank, nor are they gonna be one, no reason to store your money on Steam just leave it in your bank, and spend what you want at checkout that simple so you don't have to cry about leaving money on any game store.

2. Scammers want this feature the most because they can run with the money the moment you let them have access to your account, yes there some people that are not educated, let alone bright enough to understand what phishing is about. Steam does not want to take a risk of being a bank just like any other game store, hence the point of fruad, and money laundering.

3. If you're buying Steam gift cards, and asking how to take that money back out, then maybe it time for you to look into getting a credit card instead, or check what bank transfer is available at checkout as payment method so you know what to get into.

It would require a banking institution permit, which comes with directives such as extensive id verification for every user who would want to make a withdrawal. Just like betting sites, banks and various fintechs do right now.

It would not be a scammer's paradise scenario because there would be strict requirements for withdrawals. For a withdrawal the destination (i.e. card holder name or bank account holder name etc) would need to be validated against the already verified information. So the scammer thing is not a good argument.

However this would mean a substantial shift of Steam's purpose (from gaming platform to something else) and that is why I believe it is unlikely to happen.

Oh yeah, a next topic about laundring money on its finest...
