I just entered BigPicture mode and Steam still does not detect it as an active control, and windows 10 is detecting it perfectly and all the buttons are working. I already tried turning on support for generic controls, support for the XBOX control and nothing worked.
What you said doesn't make sense for the following reason. Joystick and gamepads use the same X, Y, Z directional axes, the same Dpad, the same buttons. The difference is that the Joystick may have a little more buttons or functionality. It makes no sense not to recognize at least the basics of an official Xbox controller, as Windows itself recognizes the Joystick with all its features. This is a serious flaw in the accessibility of the Steam application itself and it influences games that cannot be played due to this lack of Joystick detection.
