yeah let's live in the DSL era,
also, why does the home store show 9999 images with videos?
you do not need to add someone through his profile because "recent players" exit
Plenty of users out there don't have great internet speeds, and the profile page is designed for all kinds of devices and interfaces, some of which don't handle large files very well.
The Store page dynamically loads more content as you hover and scroll. It dynamically loads videos if you want to play them.
By contrast, the artwork on a profile page is almost always in a prominent position and needs to be loaded instantly.
This assumes friends are always strangers who were met in a game.
and? 10 m/b should be at least the standard speed, people who have low-speed internet may stop using steam
also, steam is meant for PC if you are going to add people with your phone then it's your choice, besides all phones now have 8GB of ram.
why do you add them? most friends outside of the games don't play which is pointless to have.
You have friend code system if you want to add irl friends or Discord
then add them to the steam profile? no need to load 20 slots show at once when you can NOT see them.
what? Steam is for PC indeed yeah it's a gaming platform but for PC, why you would use your phone to add people?
the Steam phone is meant for security verification or login or buying discounted games, and some replay on forums,
besides most phones, as I said have 8GB of ram. and it will be more RAM in the future.
?most of these are copyrighted material and not originally from the user, when steam artwork has "you should agree this work is from you" before posting.
but who cares about these rules when you can bypass it with AI tools and spam artworks left and right
I would like some more options though when it comes to uploading art. Like keeping steam from resizing the image unnecessarily and being able to keep transparency on images, guessing this is because they convert png's to jpg's.
Also a fix to profile picture uploads always being blurred on steam discussion boards, unlike ones you can purchase from point shops which are usually significantly more clearer.
I've actually seen situations where various people will upload significantly large files to forum posts that end up slowing down loading speeds due to the large sizes. It's not a common occurrence, but it can happen. These forums are already a mess as is at times to begin with. I don't feel a cap is a bad thing, they could maybe argue for larger cap perhaps instead?
No,
beside almost "Compression" from old day standard bc of low speed internet and low ram.
the compressed of gifs that I can do at least reaches 7mb without changing the frames
seems next steps will be limit addon uploading because of "bot" workshop.
Haha absolutely right. Every other profile I visit, I see there big t*ddies anime girl shaking which are not even made by them. Talk about 0% creativity but 100% stealing artworks from 3rd party websites.
