A way to hide game activity for specific games
Because you need this, and so do I.

Previous thread was locked due to activity, thus I'm here to make a new one stating right here: I need a way to hide games from my activity lists.
I'm not alone, an opened thread is required, unless Steam actually gives an answer -be it no.

So you'll spam? Because if you keep reposting after it's locked by a Moderator, you will find yourself temp banned from the Discussions.

I won't spam.
There's a suggestion, some talked about adult games, some talked about idle games, some talked about wallpaper engine.

It's an idea, how's an idea "closed" by having activity/ups ?

Because Steam Moderators are paid "People" with nothing better to do then close threads without any given reason.

Create a FREE alternate account to hide your naughty, naughty games.

This is not a healthy behaviour.

For the record, here's the last activity on the previous thread:

Can set them up into categories if you want them hidden from your side of the Library, otherwise, I think there's an option in the Library to hide specific games from it.

It's not healthy. You're right. I'm a bit agitated. Maybe I should go take a chill pill, or maybe get some tea.

I won't repost the previous arguments (that's why I URLed-it in my previous post), but as of today:
  1. I can hide games to myself
  2. I can hide my entire game activity for others
  3. I can go offline
  4. I can create a new dedicated (/free) account
1. I used this to revoke utterly bad games from my library so I won't be tempted to buy them again
2. This breaks game invites from other games (namely Borderlands), and doesn't allow community driven stats
3. This is not the point of having an online store if the only way I can play games is by disabling it, and isn't reliable as when going online it will expose those activities
4. This won't export current game activities, and Steam can't run multiple accounts at the same time on one computer.

So far, I just want a "activities related to this game aren't suitable for public exposure, keep it private, please"-button. That would be toggleable for case I'd want to brag about my >6,5k hrs of crushcrush.

Why would you run your porn account at the same time than your other account? Sounds like a ultra specific personal issue.

If you could hide your porn games you still wouldnt go post about them on the forums otherwise that would be incredibly dumb to do.

Hmm, I don't do "porn games", I usually play "visual novels" at best. But you don't want to know why it's a request, you should know that it's a request.

Imagine, there's an idle game I run in the background while playing Cities: Skyline. When I close Cities: Skylines, the idle game comes back as an "active" title. But I'm not actively idle-ing on said idle game. So, what's the point in my friends recieving a notification I'm playing "idle game Xxx"?
I mentionned a solo-local-nonfriendly-heavymodded Valheim game session that I'd want nobody be notified about, is it porn?

I set myself on invisible. Notifications problem solved.

Yeah, overly specific issue. But, just as a question. I didn't knew you could do that. How do you "idle" a game and launch another?
Thermal Lance 1 ENE 2023 a las 20:45
BTW, im gonna say its porn games anyway. Don't take it the wrong way. I'm not always serious in a discussion. :)

It breaks game invites on most titles I used this feature on. I was the only person who could invite others, and if any other had this also on, we couldn't invite each other.

This doesn't solve the game activity exposure either. My friends turned off game activities for my account, notification problem solved.

I was not aware you weren't supposed to click the green "play" button on another Steam library title while one was already active. Let me try this again.

~Yeah, I can idle on crushcrush while playing DwarfFortress, awesome!

Oh, I thought I could only boot one game at a time outside from tools/server kits.

Good to know.
