If you want the games to be "fresh", you save up. Stores don't have to cover for your unwillingness to save up.
But I'm like a customer, and collecting games that appeal to me even if being overpriced
Hype is overrated, and in just about every single case, you are better off not getting and playing a game right away. You'll get a better experience by waiting for bug patches and fixes.
Regardless, the gaming industry isn't here to provide you games on a rental business, or to rack up a pile of IOUs because you can't afford to buy them. Either get a part time job, or save your money and wait.
So far as I know. STores don't even do laywaway for things that small. . And then there's the whole question of what happens when you default
I suppose one way to make it work is to have it so that you cannot purchase , or activate any games on steam until you've cleared that amount You will also not have the use of the market YIOu may have no more than one game at a time this way and publishers are free to opt out of the scheme.
Just save up now for the first game and buy it. Then pretend you are making payments on it to a savings account and then use that for the next one. Problem solved. It's literally the same amount of money spent overall. You are still paying in installments. And you get to buy all the games (except that first one) at release.\
And you still have to explain this:
You want to buy a game before you can play it and make payments on it so that when it is out you can play it right away. You can literally do that buy just putting the payments you'd be making into a savings account or something and then buy it when it comes out.
Bugs at launch are the main reason I wait before buying games nowadays. Been disappointed so many times and having to wait for patches to fix some of the worst bugs is so annoying. Rather have some patience and get the games after being fixed and with the bonus of a cheaper price
Just got FF7 Remake Intergrade and it's been out for some time on PC. Read about performance issues when it came to Steam and waited till today to actually get it, discounted, but only after checking on the forums that it would run well. So annoying having decent hardware and having stutters and major fps drops...
And having more reviews to go on and a better idea of the game's staying power, especially if it's multiplayer.
it's not few people, brats are everywhere, honestly, everywhere
I wrote that first then realized there is wallet that canbe used for such purpose, thencorrected myself but left it so because it's not the same, similar but not same, limits you to spend money on anything else
discounts are great way for buying top pick games but newest tiles are immune to than luxury
i guess opting out is a choice, and i don't see games under and around $20 in this programme, just less affordable full priced newest titles
1. Buying at release often has a game with bugs that get fixed later on so waiting can provide a better experience than buying at release
2. Waiting may get you a game at a lower price. Most of my games are probably 25-50% off with a few 75% off.
3. You can save money and have it available when games you want are on sale instead of having no money and buying now/pay later. Using finance for bigger purchases is one thing but for small purchases it really shouldn't be needed.
4. No interest or other complications should you not be able to pay on time. I imagine some would buy game, complete it, not pay and then there'd be payment disputes.
the 4 is the top most concern, i mean game copies don't not require physical resources to be built but the companies would still suffer economical loses giving away thousands or millions of copies for free or at the price of the first credit rate (if you have to pay it at the moment you claim the game), because of exploit of such service, the only questionis how to make it not exploitable and what would be the sacrifice every company would need to accept to make it work.
One way is to limit hte account features until paid the monthly rate.
Making fake accounts and issue new cards to be able to buy more games is more than obviously dumb if you are a thief.
But let's just say, you can't spend or buy games until you pay current rate which is overdue, and if you fail until the end of the month your account gets limited or locked until paid. Doesn't sound happy. I mean it's for serious people who respect other people's work.
