Remove pornography from steam..
Remove pornography from steam.. it's disgraceful.

Surprise! There's porn on the Internet! It's everywhere.
4% of the entire Internet is porn.
25%-30% of all Internet searches are porn related.
For the vast majority of this pornographic content, accessing it is just a matter of typing it in and clicking, "I swear I am 18 years or older, honest." Sometimes you don't even need to do that.
It is not, nor has it ever been a website or platform owner's responsibility to ensure kids can't access the porn. And it shouldn't be.
Therefore the responsibility lies entirely on the parents! (Or other adult guardian responsible for the welfare of the child.)
If little Billy looks at the nekkid ladies, it's all the parent's fault. And honestly there are worse things that could happen to little Billy. The parents probably should have had a frank and open discussion with him about porn before his innocent childhood curiosity caused him to Google what he shouldn't.
Not to mention that with Steam there's this little thing called "Family View" that puts Steam and the content therein entirely under the control of the parents. (Or other responsible adult guardian.)
So don't, "Think of the children!" at me, and leave the porn alone.

Did you really though? Or are you a dirty horndog like the rest of us and now you just feel bad about it.

Note the last option, "Adult Only Sexual Content". Tick this box if you are okay seeing games that contain sexual content that is explicit or graphic and is intended for adults only. (This option is unchecked by default.)

Directly above that is another option, "Nudity or Sexual Content". Tick this box if you are okay with seeing games that contain some nudity or sexual content.

I don't really see how you could possibly misread this. It's very plainly worded.

There seems to be a market for them. I don't think it makes sense to remove a bunch of games just because some users don't like it.

Don't enable the Adult Only content and perhaps block the "hentai" and "visual novel" tags, that should get rid of most of them.

Don't see why, if you don't like seeing it then why did you opt into seeing pornography in the first place?

"Think of the children" hasn't been an appropriate excuse for ages now. Parents are responsible for their kids and ensuring they use Steam, or the internet, in a proper way. Steam offers all kinds of tools (filters, family view, etc) for that which parents can use.

None of that can be verified by Valve, plus plenty of countries have privacy laws regarding that. Valve isn't a type of business that is allowed to ask for my ID, for example.

In some countries there are systems for that, but lots of countries don't utilise such things. So there isn't a single silver bullet regarding that.

Underage people should have their parents using Family view so they can BLOCK things they don't deem their kid should see/interact with.

If tghe parent hasn't done that then thats on them. Just like if they allow their kids to smoke/drink or they buy them 18 rated games and films

It already is not an issue due to the fact that YOU need to enable Adult Only Sexual Content to view said content as it is OFF by default.

And who exactly is going to verify users I.D? I'm UK and when I went to the US in my 30's My driving licence was never accepted as proof of age cause it could have been faked as far as they they'd know

Steam ifs following all legal requirements they don't need to anything more. Would they be required to vet users for games like The Witcher?

Its even easier to set up proper account controls so underage people can't access.

Valve doesn't have any way to authenticate an ID, and many countries in the world don't even have a standardized ID like that they can use.

That is a parenting issue and Valve already have parental controls (Family View) which can be enabled on your account and needs a pin to unlock.

Secondly if parents do not lock down their PC's, "P" sites are easily accessible as they merely ask "Are you 18" and all you have to do is click Yes.

It's far easier for them to go to any of the adult entertainment sites than to set up an account and access it on Steam. Your reasoning is exactly what the offended prudes use. "Oh think of the children!" while ignoring how porn is readily and freely available to anyone who wants it.

Adult only content is disabled by default. Furthermore access can be locked through Family View PIN in the case of an account used by a minor.
