Yep, and of that 16 billion a large portion of it is physical goods unlike Steam's where the majority is digital goods. hence why its far more practical for Nintendo to invest in the distribution channels as the majority of their revenue is derived from physical products unlike Steam.
People also forget that Nintendo is more then games, and just how much merchandise they have
This has to be a joke right? The only thing they were losing money on(which they anticipated) was the WiiU.
They literally had an increase in revenue in the 3DS, game sales, and mobile transactions. They were far from 'basically dead'. But thank you for the laugh.
I thought we were discussing reasons to release/to not release the Steam Deck in LATAM. How is that derailment?
Anyway, as I've pointed out, a PS5 is a lot more expensive than a Steam Deck in Brazil, and guess what? It sells like hot cakes :) To the point it can be difficult to get one... perhaps some people would get a Steam Deck instead of a PS5? After all, there are significant advantages over the PS5.
Sony has had hardware distribution establish in LATAM since the PS1. Almost 30 years ago.
Swing and a miss.
Ah, good to know I've retributed a favor :)
The only region where Nintendo is really popular is Asia, you know that, right? Their latest consoles never did really well in the West... Sony and Microsoft dominated this market.

Released in 2017, the Switch clearly saved Nintendo.
On the other hand, during almost 20 years, Valve only grew bigger and bigger, selling a lot more than Nintendo hardware and software. Therefore, Valve is more resourceful than Nintendo, whether you like it or not.
And it's funny how a less resourceful company is doing business in LATAM, don't you think?
So?
The point is that people can buy a Steam Deck, if they're paying a lot more for a PS5. Swing and a miss, indeed.
Valve has not outpaced Nintendo's hardware sales by a long shot.
Their hardware also isn't in the console market, it's in the PC market since they have all been accessories to a PC or(with the release of the Deck) a PC itself.
You're just dragging this on to drag it on now.
Console market vs PC market.
Valve is not competing with Sony and Sony is not competing with Valve. People buying a PS5 means nothing to Valve because they don't make consoles.
