Multiple Wishlists
I'm sure this has been suggested before, but I did a search and couldn't find a topic. Sorry if this is an old idea: multiple wishlists.

My wishlist is almost 300 strong now, I think. For me, there are different kinds of games I put on my wishlist:

Games I absolutely want to get when they release
Games I'm just waiting on the right sale to get
Games that I don't know much about but seem interesting and want to look more in to
Games I'll get once they're out of early access

etc etc etc

Having one huge wishlist makes this such a hassle to keep track of. I'd love to see Steam have a system like Amazon, where you can create any number of public or private wishlists named anything you want.

Even if it doesn't have that much flexibility, anything would be better than one huge wishlist.

As it is, I want to go through my wishlist and remove the games I no longer have an interest in, but it's incredibly daunting. It could be so much easier and better.

My wishlist hovers between 70 - 130 and includes a bunch of games I want to keep an eye on because I might want them if certain conditions are met like them going gold or bugs being fixed, then I have games I will definitely buy, and others I might buy if I have time to play. I've resorted to trying to keep one category at the top of the list and another at the bottom so yes steam needs multiple wishlists.

This would be great. There are some games that I would like to get when they're actually finished or when problems are fixed. They more of a watch list than a wishlist, but I don't want to be flooded with updates by following it.

Yes please!
I would like multiple wishlists and the ability to add games that are already in my library to wishlists, because some of my family uses steam and so I put games on my wishlist I think they would like (things not on their wishlist) so when it goes on sale I get notified and I buy them and gift them for birthdays or holidays, but the problem is if I happen to have the game in my library already then it won't let me add that game to my wishlist and I also have to seperate the different games. so right now my wishlist is divide in half, the first half is games I want and the bottom half is games I think my family would like and I will buy for them eventually but it would be so much easier if I could have a second wishlist.

In an earlier post I suggested simply adding custom game lists that you can use for whatever purpose (public or shared gift lists, lists of games related to squid, games your sister hates, whatever), like IMDB has for movies[www.imdb.com].

Have a primary wishlist that works with the default web buttons, sure. But make it work just like the other generic lists.

These lists should be optionally anonymous. For public lists you could perhaps have an optional means for other people to suggest additions. For ultimate usability make them usable in searches (via boolean operators).

Sounds like a good idea, except for the "Games I don't know much about" part. That's what following a game is for.

That sounds like a more improved idea.

I have the same problem as the original poster, wishlist is simply getting too long to keep proper track of. Multiple categories for wishlists that you could name as you please would be really helpful.

Multiple lists would be great. Even greater if I could rename them to whatever I want. Another idea wouöd be to declare public and private lists

This is a great idea and I've been thinking the same thing, also make it so that organizing and editing your wishlist isn't such a hassle like it is now.

I really like this idea as well, as I have some games I want to buy, but others I just want to keep an eye on for the time being in case of updates

I need 3 wishlists:

- One for the games I definitely want. This will be my public list.

- One for the old games I already had (on diskettes) and would buy again when on sale. This will be a private list.

- One for the games I want to try, but most probably will return for a refund after a couple of hours. This would also be a private list.

Of course, would be nice to be able to create as many wishlists as I want.

Please make it happen! :-) Thanks!

Yes, this would be amazing. I see no downside (make the default just what it is now), and it would be a massive help to keeping track of even small amounts of games. The incredibly simplistic "order from first to last" system really is a hassle, and not enough
biohazardgang Jun 28, 2017 @ 12:04am
Totally agreed.

I'm grouping my games into sub-lists:
Tier 1 - Need them
Tier 2 - Want them on sale
Tier 3 - Maybe later, when they're on deep, deep sale
Upcoming releases - Wait and see if they're gonna be good

These lists are getting longer and longer and it's taking more time to sort the games alphabetically.
Multiple lists would absolutely be helpful.
