Add Latin Spanish as additional language
Hi Steam team:

Recently we received a lot of games with Latin American Spanish language: Alan Wake, Black Ops 3, Grand Theft Auto V, Anime games by Namco Bandai, Fallout 4 and Doom recently.

It's time to just add Spanish (Mexico) or Latin American Spanish in the language selector for games on Steam. South América is a growing market, now we have local currencies in the most part of the region and some of the games are created by Latin American devs.

So, please Valve, I think the time is now, and please add this option in the language selection in games (if it requires) in your platform, a lot of Latin American Gamers will be happy with this addition.

Thanks.

If you are talking about in the game itself, then you have to talk to the devs/publishers of the games, Valve has no control over what language options they have in the games.

But, it has options in general for the majority of the games availables now. In Steam it has considerated 2 portuguese languages in general (European and Brazilian) Even in the Steam client has both languages. If portuguese has the two types here, Why can't have the options to choose two kind of spanish languages?

PS: Sorry for my bad english,

No , we are talking about the language table on the store page exclusively, now customers don´t know if games have only one spanish or both, and it is an important information. There are games where is difficult to select between european and american spanish, and you need to change some folder´s name or copy language files to another place to take what you want.

This thread is over a year old by now, but the situation hasn't changed much. I want to play in Spanish as a way to practice the language, but since I live in LA I want to learn the Mexican dialect cuz that's my ancestry. The film industry here does a good job with LATAM voice and subtitles (you'll only hear castellano if it's a Spanish film, you imported a European copy, or it's from a small studio that can't afford seperate dubs). For games, even if the studio is based here, it's not a guarantee we'll get a local translation.

Many devs pretty much outsource their translations to one or several localization companies in Europe. Text is fine, I may not prefer it but at least I can read it. It's when dubbing is involved that loses me. Their accents make it hard to catch up.

At the very least I would like to see an additional Spanish option in the game language selection: Español (AL) and Español. Many of the bigger games use different teams in Spain and Mexico (or Argentina sometimes) and it results in a slightly dfferent translation.
For example, here is the same cinematic trailer for Overwatch, but in two languages
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bb9zAPkqtg LATAM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItuFYRc21Is Spain

Honestly I don't factor the Spanish language when buying games on PC or console. I do know that if I bought a game on a PS4, I'm more likely to find a Mexican Spanish option than if I were to find the same game on PC.
