1) This would be tough to police. If you were given a game by a friend would you not be allowed to review it ? How could you check that a key had been bought and not given ?
2) The specific criticism that the game is unforgivingly difficult appears in positive reviews too.
3) It might have gone the other way although people who load up a game for free are less likely to be aficianados of a genre than people who have paid for it.
The free weekend will have done its job. It's raised the game's profile, and those who loved the game will have bought it or flagged it for later purchase.
Trying to control reviews beyond one per owner of the game is too difficult to police and akin to censorship.

OP. Are you daft or are you just 5 years old? Seriously.
Believe it or not, they have as much right to review the game as anyone else and just not their sort of game is a valid comment on the game. You want to change this just because a game you like is getting some bad reviews? Suck it up. Not everyone is obligated to love the things you like. Mordheim is a big boy, it can handle itself.
You on the other han should have biggerconcerns than whether a game you like got a few bad reviews.
Usually, I don't reply to people that start their posts with insulting someone, but I will give you benefit of doubt that you are only like that on the Internet, and that in the real life you are actually a civil person.
I don't like this game. Well, I don't know if I like this game or not, because I don't own it. I was curious about this game and I saw that it has quite good reviews, but recent reveiws are mostly negative. I started wondering why? Maybe it received really bad patch, became unplayable or devs introduced microtransaction? Nope, it's just the free weekend and there are plenty of negative reviews by people with less than 1h on the record.
Sorry to disappoint you but when faced with such an affront to logic I'm pretty much the same RL.
So, you're saying that because the feree weekend allows people who might niot otherwise tried the game a chance to try it , you think these people should not beable to voice their opinions, especially when tgheir opinions are likely the most telling of all. If you can dislike something you got for free...
Maybe I was a little harsh. but seriously, Think . ANyone who has experienced the full game through steam for more than 5 minuites has just as much right to review the game as anyone else.
At the end of the day though, Steam reviews aren't worth the bytes of data they take up on Steams servers. They are 90% people attempting to be funny, 5% people blindly bashing a game based on the dev/subject matter/etc, and 5% legit reviews.
That's pretty much what happens when you give consumers a voice. And on the other side of the spectrum you have biased and very bribeable pro critics.
And while that may be a negative for some people for the intended audience of the game that's probabluy a selling point.
I thought the problem was reviewing on a free weekend. You're now making it sound like your complaint is a review after only an hour. Which is it? If someone bought the game, played if for less than an hour, and gave it a bad review that's perfectly fine? But if someone plays it for 40 hours during a free weekend whatever they think of the game should be discounted?
I seriously doubt you'd be here complaining about a review that said they played it during the free weekend, think it's the greatest thing they've ever played, and are planning to buy it as soon as they have enough money to do so.
As I stated before. I don't own nor like the game. So it's not about my opinion.
S.x.
There are also positive reviews from free weekend players with little time played.
