Print Screen key captures image to OS clipboard
But also, so does Ctrl+C (Copied Text goes to Clipboard) Ctrl+V (Takes last available Clipboard text/image data and pastes it to target)
These all share the Clipboard; so using Print Screen within Steam Client is not a good idea.
You have all those F keys for a reason. If your game already has a Screenshot Hotkey, disable that to make room for the one you wish to use for Steam Client. If using multiple Game Clients at the same time (say Steam + Uplay) then ensure your Screenshot hotkey is not the same for both; otherwise you may have poor performance when taking shots, plus in this example, the Uplay overlay would also be visable in the Steam screenshot; and vice-versa.
But one of those screenshots would if Print Screen was allowed as your game client hotkey; thus also wiping out text you had copied, to have ready to paste at a later time.
As far as screenshots in Steam; they get fair amount of compression % auto-applied to them, and saved as JPG
However, if you'd like un-compressed screenshot (which retain full quality) Steam has an option in the Client for that. While it would be extra manual work; if you did not like a screenshot steam compressed, you could then replace it with an uncompressed version, prior to your screenshots upload process. As long as the uncompressed version does not exceed Steam's size-per-file limits.
