98% of the statistics are made up, certainly when they fit tha narrative.
As a gamer that loves to play older games, I certainly can say Win 10 works good with most games. The only games that I didn't get to run initially are games with Securom and such, as that's disabled. But those aren't games on Steam anyway and not relevant to the discussion.
But have a check at that big thread that is linked in the first reply, you'll see many people claiming games don't work, yet getting disproven by people who own them and play them on newer machines.
Also dozens of 8 bit games
I shouldent have to tweak anything in order to play my games. Im not lazy But i tried tweaking and strange stuff happens.
1 the axels in car wobble (does not usually happen on xp)
2 if the i dont tweak the game runs awfully bad.
If we were to make a bigger deal out of this we may just get what we need.
Thats of the people who were 1 either online or active.
2 Allowed steam to survey them.
Most windows xp machines are disconnected from the internet a lot of the time in some cases (for security reasons)
They may 'run' but does that mean without buying software/heavy tweaking/mods?
while many do they do not run a max or even medium settings.
Correction. What you 'want', not need.
Tweeking has been a part of PC gaming since the beginning. "Shouldn't have to" sounds like your looking through rose coloured glasses. I had issues with Morrowind on XP that required Tweeking. It's always been there, XP isn't a magic safe zone where all games ran flawlessly.
But again. It's a moot point. They aren't going to support an outdated, no longer supported OS. And making a client for it is support.
This has all been beaten to death in the old thread anyway.
