Settings icon / button for the Steam Client Window
it would be really nice if we could get a little gear icon for settings on the regular Steam Client Window just like they added to the Friends List that has its own settings now, the regular Steam Settings has been confusing ppl as long as the way to log out has xP so since the friends list got a settings button and you can log out of your steam account by going to the bar icon at the top of the Client Window then it would be nice to get a little settings gear icon there that links to the regular Steam Settings area and we would be all good lol

or at least it just seems to make sense and would save a lot of headache for the average user

Valve put it where every normal program that hides it, in the menu at the top left.

ya i know its been there since the beginning, but since they put the new settings in for the friends list right on the friends list window, and also added the bar icon with your avatar at the top of the regular steam window you can click and log out of your account, it would be nice to get a settings icon like the friends list has but at the top of the regular steam client window next to the announcements and notifications icons

then the settings and log out for steam is about fixed for the average user that would know to even look at the menus bar icons (which is a surprisingly large amount of ppl)
or just add a "steam settings" option to the avatar bar icon context menu (drop menu), right under the log out option, that would work too lol

You can also right click on the icon in the task bar.

That sounds better. Same for the client where your name/wallet is.

ya thats what i usually use, although the average user that wouldnt know to look at the menus bar on the window under the title bar also wouldnt know to right click stuff to check for options or a context menu

so in terms of convenience since they added the others then why not add the last option thats not easily noticable, it would make sense and introduce a lot of users to the general steam settings for the 1st time, let alone it cant be that bad to add an option under "Log out of account:" on the avatar icon context menu

and ive known a lot of users that would just kill Steam in their task manager since they didnt know where the log out was, or had no idea there was a steam settings area and thought the new friends list options were the 1st settings page they made lol
which its funny they knew enough to kill steam in the task manager, but not enough to click the menus bar options xP
