If you simply want to insult me and insinuate that I am stupid or naive, then you are not welcome here.
I do not have to sit here and be insulted over and over and over by people who insist upon saying that I click every link that comes my way or that I fall for scams.
Your discord account didn't get hacked out of nowhere. That doesn't happen. You probably got offered a nitro gift that wasn't legit or something. It's not stupidity, it's just not looking at the link close enough.
That's stupidity. Or downright negligence.
I examine every link someone throws at me. I do not fall for stupid stuff like you seem to assume I do.
Why the fudge can't you simply accept my word on the matter?
Because you seem to be implying a reality where Discord accounts get hacked out of nowhere, which DOES NOT HAPPEN.
EXCEPT. IT. HAPPENED.
Now if you can't be bothered to cease laughing at me, then please unsubscribe and leave this thread.
I am trying to be serious here, cybersecurity is important after all. Yet you think it's funny.
To be brutally honest, from your reactions one might think I just admitted to believing in something that doesn't exist.
I think you're all insane.
If you were trying to be serious, you wouldn't be claiming the article says Discord is the problem. You won't say that Discord is 98% malware. You wouldn't be even suggesting that Steam chat is anywhere near as versatile as Discord.
You aren't trying to have a serious discussion, you are stating something you want to happen and ignoring anything that goes against it.
Okay, let me back up. How did you find out your account was hacked? Did people tell you it started spamming things or could you simply just not log back in?
I don't use Discord out of principle. Have you heard of OpenFeint btw?
I watched as the hacker pasted everything. I deleted as fast as I could, but it kept happening.
Not only did the bastard keep spamming porn, but they kept spamming @everyone.
@everyone @everyone @everyone.
Porn here
@everyone @everyone @everyone
And it wasn't just any porn either. It was child porn. Disgusting.
No I haven't, let me do a google search.
Sounds like you bruteforced by someone looking to screw with you then, if you truly did not click anything shady. What the hacker was doing makes me believe it was a personal attack, since if you fell for a scam, they'd just use your account to spam scam links.
It was a personal attack, and I used my password manager so bruteforcing couldn't have occurred.
Also this was the latest and last of a long string of attacks by assumedly, the same bastard.
I don't know his real name, only his username: "Alpha".
That isn't how that works.
Bruteforcing is literally throwing ♥♥♥♥ at the wall until it sticks. A password manager doesn't protect against it.
Bruteforcing is guessing your password over and over. Unless you changed your password constantly.
