Anti-Hack System
So I have an idea of creating an anti-hack system where Valve would release an update on let's say CS:GO, where all user will need to download the software. What I have in mind that ever game a player joins their game scans the other 9 peoples systems for any sort of hacks. Second thing the anti-hack should do is if someone is hacking it would mess with the hacks. E.g. Wallhacks, the "hacker" will see the player everywhere but where he really is. This system would stop people from hacking not because they are wanting to be an actual player but because the would actually make them be bad at the game. So yea any ideas on this :steamhappy:

Yea I hear what you saying but I know of people that were hacking for weeks on end without getting VACced. So the reason for me thinking of this was people hack on other accounts cause the game is so cheap so yes VAC works but it doesn't stop!!! So there need to be an other system that would stop hack(give them reason not to want to hack). Yes item loss but like I said they create other accounts just to hack. I just feel the VAC does a good job but I think it's job is directed towards doing the wrong thing.

If the scanning algorithm is known to be packaged entirely client-side, expect cheat makers to easily reverse-engineer it and circumvent it. Worse, they could tamper with it and scramble the view of everyone but them.

Also, one has to keep in mind that the software would have to rely on known cheat signatures, the same ones VAC bans for. So, it would serve no other purposes than to warn cheat makers that their hacks are now detected and make them warn their clientbase, which is the whole point of the current delay.

You could argue that there is a near-instant action in certain games, such as the "permanently untrusted" label on CS:GO, but in that case, why mess with them when you could ban them outright ?
