Limit Simultaneous Download Threads

Hi,

There's currently a bandwidth limiter feature - but even if you use this, Steam opens many threads even when downloading 1 game.

I see as many as 15 threads opened up which slows down my entire home network. Instead if it used only 1 , 2 or 3 threads, my network would be fine. With 15 threads opened, a game download has 15 times more priority than say, a youtube or netflix video.

I would like to request a feature where I could set a thread limit for the amount of connections it opens when it downloads a game.

Steam > Options > Downloading

There you can set in what hours you would download updates, what max speed would it be etc.

Maybe try searchhing there for some solution?

This doesn't resolve the core problem. Yes, I can limit the speed which helps, but I would like to download at full speed using 1 or 2 threads instead of 15 which slows down my entire network.

Note your router should be able to handle multiple threads going on with the downloading
