Apple iCloud Private Relay

Hello -- I was having trouble with Steam Cloud sync'ing, and figured out with help from tech support that it was Apple iCloud Private Relay preventing it from working. I'm posting this as a request / suggestion that Steam modify Steam Cloud to make sure that it works with iCloud Private Relay, so that it doesn't have to be turned off. It's a great privacy feature for iCloud users.

This would have to be done on Apple's side since it's their service blocking the sync.

Im not sure they're really going to bother given that Apple has functionally killed the entire gaming market on Steam via not only a death by a thousand cuts, but also via just chopping off the head. Pretty much all steam games will basically stop working in a few years once MacOS kills Rosetta2.

I'd like to second this request. Also wasted a bunch of time recently figuring out why Steam suddenly refused to update installed games or sync cloud state.

I think that iCloud Private Relay does not block traffic, and guess that the reason this isn't working is related to Steam checking network requests against expected IP addresses and finding mismatches.

As a first step, the Steam Client team could correct the error messages that are displayed when this happens. These currently show either "No internet connection" or "Connection timed out", which are both wrong.
