Or alternatively valve may need to implement 2 types of mod deletion: hard-deletion on all PCs for law-related reasons, and soft-deletion from steam workshop only, leaving files on your PC intact. This will also have to be enforced not to abuse hard-deletions.
The Steam Workshop mods are only downloaded via a live subscription, if the service ends or you stop your subscription why should you still get the benefits?
If you're referring to gmod, I can tell you a way to keep addons you've downloaded from the workshop, if you're interested.
THat seems odd.
I don't know how or why anyone would give developers of a game the ability to delete mods from the Workshop.
That just is not a good idea period.
Now I get it.
My bad.
You as the player download a super cool weapon mod or really cool weapon reskin. You start using that mod for a very long time. You like that mod, you want to use it forever. But the creator decides to delete that mod for a unknown reason.
I want to be able to enjoy mods without the worry of the same mods being deleted.
