Suggestion. Remove Auto Delete Of Mods Removed By Developer
If there's one thing I worry about once iv subscribed to a mod, is that one day that same mod will be deleted from my game. And ill no longer be able to enjoy my favorite mod. I believe once you've subscribed to a mod, Its yours forever until you've deleted it your self. I believe it would be very wonderful if this was reality.

Some mods are deleted over copyright reasons, in this case nobody should still have the files for the mods since they breached copyright policy. Other times the developer doesn't want to maintain it/get harassed over it/etc, basically if a mod's gone then it's gone forever. You could always make manual backups but never reupload what isn't yours.

Mods belong to the creator not the user.

Great suggestion! Games are not deleted from your PC if copyright expires or smth, steam just stops selling it which is a nice middle ground.
Or alternatively valve may need to implement 2 types of mod deletion: hard-deletion on all PCs for law-related reasons, and soft-deletion from steam workshop only, leaving files on your PC intact. This will also have to be enforced not to abuse hard-deletions.

If your using mods from the Nexus mods website, those will stay on your system even if the mod is removed from the site. This is cause you fully download the mod files.
The Steam Workshop mods are only downloaded via a live subscription, if the service ends or you stop your subscription why should you still get the benefits?

If you're referring to gmod, I can tell you a way to keep addons you've downloaded from the workshop, if you're interested.

A lot of mod creators upload things which they don't own the copyright to to begin with, these mods should never exist and shouldn't exist on the PC of anyone.

I was not aware of developers of games deleting mods from the workshop.
THat seems odd.

They have to delete mods if they don't follow Steam's content policies.

I've never seen this ever happen though.
I don't know how or why anyone would give developers of a game the ability to delete mods from the Workshop.

That just is not a good idea period.

It's happened multiple times, if you look at Garry's Mod then most workshop mods using copyrighted anime content/etc have been removed by the developers. It used to be full of nothing but that stuff til they had to take it down.

What I'm referring to are L4D2 mods or Garrysmod addons, or any mods for any games. Heres an example:

You as the player download a super cool weapon mod or really cool weapon reskin. You start using that mod for a very long time. You like that mod, you want to use it forever. But the creator decides to delete that mod for a unknown reason.

I want to be able to enjoy mods without the worry of the same mods being deleted.

You need to respect the reasons the creator had for removing the mod, there's no way that you'd ever be allowed to keep a mod that was removed without some kind of manual backup.

Also Im referring to the MOD developer deleting the mod not the GAME developer.

yes, respect the wishes of the mod developer who removed the mod for whatever reason they had, they don't want the mod up in public space anymore.
