You can already add a bunch of stuff to the cart quickly, specially if you use an actual browser.
Will also have all the issues of people doing that and then realizing after they bought hundreds of dollars of stuff that they either can't afford it, or didn't want to buy a bunch of stuff that wasn't on sale.
This will just cause too many issues.
At the very least, knowing what the wishlist value would be, it'd be interesting. Even if I don't personally buy 100+ games at once, someone else may want to. Others may just want to know how much it'd cost. Then can remove any accordingly, instead of adding, should they wish to do it the other way around.
I agree, it may result in some financial discomfort if someone does so irresponsibly. Hence, as Bug pointed out, a checkbox system may be more beneficial.
As for the browser point, I was not aware of that option (Though it seems like a reasonable way of doing so). It does still require leaving the steam application, where the process could be streamlined on the app itself.
As long as kids aren't taking their parents' credit cards, most people should be looking at the total cart value and thinking about it before adding card details.
And I'm not sure the amount of users who would utilize the feature is significant enough to warrant Valve doing it. That's not to say that it's not an idea, or that it would never be useful. But that can be said about a lot of YAGNI (ya ain't gonna need it) type ideas.
If there's not a significant number of users doing that, then there's not. And Valve can certainly track that sort of user behavior.
I dislike the idea of adding stuff right from the wishlist because of that chance of getting things cheaper.
Even if its just 1 to 5 things I'm picking up I always add it from the store page for the same reason.
I very much doubt there will be many people who just check off a bunch of boxes and then hit add to cart
