My friend, that's called sarcasm. I don't want to see voice chat removed from games, because I can easily mute it. I can mute it forever, yes. I don't know what games you play, but those I play have a setting for that.
I take offense to that. What makes you think your musical taste is better than mine? It's probably the other way around.
Wu-Tang 4ever!
Your question is.
Anyway, the point is that just like voice chat, no one is forced to listen anything in profiles. Do you get it now?
Like I said before, various composers would kindly donate their music for free. Hundreds, perhaps thousands of them do that already.
I was talking about a scenario where this feature is implemented, didn't you notice that?
No one would be forced to listen anything.
Well, if that ever happens, Valve would probably charge Steam points for the music just like they do for all profile stuff.
In other words, just another encouragement to buy games. Triple win: Valve, devs and users.
Apparently, you're not paying enough attention to this discussion. Those who don't wanna "get blasted" can easily mute all profiles with one click, or Valve can even make this off by default.
The real big surprise is there's no cost if people want to give their music.
