Steam Tag 'Incremental'
I noticed that this tag has disappeared for quite a while now.

I find it quite useful and would like to have it back.

There are many games that deserve the Tag's Idle, Clicker and Incremental. But there are also ones that only deserve one or two of those and for some people (like me) it makes a big difference in terms of describing.

I would like to add that there is a whole community behind these types of games. There is a reddit forum 'Broken Mouse Convention' with over 100K members that covers these types of games.

For a definition what incremental actually means I cite that reddit forum:

"This subreddit is for lovers of games that feature an incremental mechanism, such as unlocking progressively more powerful upgrades, or discovering new ways to play the game. This genre is growing at a break-neck pace, be part of the revolution!"

Because Valve removed it.

Does that not describe quite a lot of computer games? You do stuff, you unlock new ways to do stuff, you do more stuff etc

There sure are many games with unfolding mechanics as only incremental feature.

An better and quite old incremental mechnic would be games that feature a 'New Game +' option. One very common mechanic in modern incremental games is 'Prestieging' which is derived from the 'New Game +' idea, you repeatedly play the same game from anew with variieng conditions.

I would say when a game has an big emphasis on incremental featurers it should get that Tag.

One game that is quite new to steam affected by that Tag would be Trimps. This one is very popular in the community and has years of development.

It was one of the few tags that got abused and placed on every freakin' game for a short while and was just removed.

That is unfortunate to hear.
