readjust prices of games in switzerland
Games for Switzerland on Steam are 10% more expensive than in local and online stores. When compared to the United States, games are up to 25% more expensive.

I've contacted the steam support and they told me:
"We are always working with publishers to adjust prices to be in line with what can be found at local retailers and online shops,"
And then they sent me here to make the suggestion.

I understand that the average salary in Switzerland is higher than in most other European countries, but so is the cost of living in this country.

That is why i consider those prices to be unfair. Some games are sold as high as 90CHF which is 20$ more than in France, USA etc...

Prices are up to the publisher, not the store.
Contact the publisher and express your opinion about the prices.

Another MWII price complaint. Activision doesn't care and will price it as they wish to.
And support dumps everyone here when they can't help you with your complaint.

Yes, the standard brush off, they always do that when it's about something that Steam Support does not actually handle. It's a polite "don't bother us with this".

Talk to the game developers/publishers. they're the only ones who can adjust the price.

You could always just not buy ... also perhaps your issue is with the Government ? since they are the ones which dictate software developers fees and of course the fees of good being sold in their country, including all applicable taxes.

I just used Modern Warfare 2 as an example, i don't plan on buying it. And my government has nothing to do with steam and the pricing that developers chooses to set. Many devs set their prices fairly, only a bunch like EA, Activision set prices at 90$.

They set their prices accordingly based upon what they believe someone will pay and yes someone will pay. They need to gain back the money they have spent developing the game including wages etc.

Secondly your OP was about adjusting prices on Steam.

Which is a contradiction as in "hey we earn more" - so we should pay less and "the cost of living is higher" which is the price of living in Switzerland but then again everyone is feeling the pinch at the moment. Oddly you do not seem to mind those price increases effect everyone, in all countries, where Steam is available.

It's more like, yes, we earn more, but we're not richer than the average European.

And, of course, my country and my prices, because that is what I am dealing with. But I am aware that other countries have it even worse. Some countries charge the same price for games as the United States, despite making far less money. But, once again, I don't live there and am not subject to those prices. And I already know that any attempt to change anything will fail.

So, no, I'm not going to request that Steam change their prices in every country. Because, once again, my efforts to change the prices in my country have failed. I have no power.

You can see Valve's suggested price for your country is CHF 68.00 and Activision said screw it, we'll make it CHF 89.90 instead.

Just remember that you have to go to the games packages page to see that info.
So, you go from here https://steamdb.info/app/1938090/ look to the left and click on Packages and choose the first subid to see the Valve suggested prices on that page.

All game publishers support staff say basically the same thing. At least they didn't say it was Valve like most others do.
