Game Referral Links For Affiliate Marketing

Would be great to see the ability for game devs to generate referral links for their games that could be used in paid advertising to track sales or for affiliate marketing 😁

It would not be great. Advertising is prohibited by the community rules. Allowing some advertising while still prohibiting some else would make it confusing and harder to moderate. Referral links on the other hand would mean that the forums would be swamped with spammy adverts. Considering that there's thousands of games on Steam, the amount of possible referral links is staggering.

There is no paid advertising on Steam. Game developers can link their own store pages using referral links on all other social media sites, if they wish to but not on Steam.

There is no paid advertising on Steam. Game developers can link their own store pages using referral links on all other social media sites, if they wish to but not on Steam.

They can use UTM but I don't see any way to create ref tags
