Hey! Maybe that's a preliminary sales tactic...
If you were adding something actually constructive to the post, and not actually harassing in the post, that'd be one thing. I am completely okay with people disagreeing with my opinion on this matter, but having people spout things that are factually in accurate and just taking the original post off course and being a troll is actually against the community guidelines. Anyways, you are right up there with brian for just not getting any more responses as people who choose to harass for the sake of harassing instead of expression opinions and debating (if there is a debate possible to be had, not arguing against FACTS) said opinions in a civilized manner. I would appreciate you not taking my post any further off course, and would also appreciate you deleting your unhelpful and irrelevant posts so people finding this thread can actually take part in discussing the original post.
Except for the teeny fact that YOU are the one sprouting incorrect info and I actually linked you to moderators and official responses from steam.
You just don't like the answer and refuse to accept it...
He also ignored post 7,11, and 15 where I linked him the official documentation confirming what I previously told him.
Then again he's mad at me because I proved he was lying in another thread when he claimed that you couldn't refund games for not liking them when refunds first came out when I linked him to streams refund support page saying that you could refund a game for not liking but back in 2015..…
Brian, I appreciate you wanting to harass me further, and understand you try your best to mask responses as not harassment, which this is the least obvious, but with our previous interactions I need you to not respond to me. Especially when the post you are citing is not relevant as it is not at all about this topic, it's about maturity filtered games showing up as blurred out, not that games you own show up to be resold to you. Completely different topics. But please, with all due respect (and yes I mean that not just saying it tongue in cheek) refrain from posting to me again please. I have told you before I do not wish to converse with you further, in other words, continuing to do so without an actually good reason or to do so without an apology or to finding out why (in situations where a person is unaware they may have cross a line with someone) is by definition harassment. I do not want to press this issue, but good lord man, I'm 41 and I'm pulling what little hair I have on my head out because of you alone tonight. (also I did want to point out I did misread the 18 as 13. You did make a good point with that one and I own up to my mistake, no matter how minor of one it was to the scope of things.)
Stop telling people not to post in your thread.
You made the thread, but you do not get to dictate who posts in it or what they post.
You REALLY need to actually read before you shove your foot down your throat.
Again, they grab a pre-selected list of games, then apply the filters such as maturity filters to that selection. So if you have mature games turned off they then filter out the matured games. Its an easy flag, unlike having to cross check every game in your list.
Again its really basic database stuff. You want to avoid having to do calls to the database as much as possible. Hence why they cache common stuff. If they had to compare games and cross reference it against games people own it would be far more data intensive.
Sorry, you don't get to be the forum police. I'll respond to any post I wish, especially ones where the information being posted is factually wrong.
I apologize that you don't know the definition of harrassment. You not liking my responses isn't harrassment. If you don't like my responses feel free to not read them. These are steam's forums and everyone is allowed to post.
Feel free to press it, everyone is allowed to post. I mean if you think that you can say that because you don't want to converse with me i'm not allowed to post in any thread you post in well i'm sorry, but we can add that to the list of things that you don't know how they work.
I cannot dictate who posts, but I can tell them to follow the steam rules or they will get reported and they will get banned from being able to post, as I did. So, heed my warning and review the steam community guidelines to learn how you are ALLOWED to respond to people here.
I mean its sad, he was given the answer and just doesn't like it and instead is attacking everyone...
Its no big secret, its a basic cache of titles that they then apply the filter on. Filtering a pre-selected list doesn't require any calls to the database so performance is lightyears better then if they had to call the database server every time someone views the home page.
It's like if i gave you 20 books and told you to remove the ones with red covers versus telling you to go to the library and grab 20 books from millions of books all over the place, and then afterwards remove the ones with red covers.
Having the pre-cached list is far faster and more efficient.
