Stream audio from Steam Deck to PC
Would be neat if there was a way to stream game audio from the Steam Deck to a PC. That way the PC would be running Spotify, Discord, or a YouTube video while playing a game

Imagine like a reverse Steam Link but with only audio

So much this!
This would be a realy nice feature.

Both ways could actually be interesting:

PC-Audio to Steam Deck
- Musik-Playlist on PC and hearing on Speakers or bluetooth headset of Steam Deck)
and
Steam-Deck to PC
- Using the PC-Headset and hearing the Deck-Game sound over it.

I have wireless Headset which do not work over Bluetooth, so it is not enjoyable to use only
some bluethooth Heasets or to occupy my usb slot for the "Headset-Stick".

Further, I play some solo-games with my Steamdeck and i'm just in a Audiochat via Discord, when some of my friends come on, then i change to pc because we play Multiplayer-Games via PC.
It is anoying to use 2 output sources ( Headset and Steam Deck). And to check of the sound comes from discord.
I think that the quality of gaming/ Steam Deck expierence would be increased a lot with such an Audio-Stream.

I mean this seems insanely complicated when you could just connect to your PC over Bluetooth as a headphone device

I mean this could be an solution in some situations.

Some people (like me) do not have native Bluetooth in their PC-setup, so i cannot
easily connect with my pc over bluetooth.

Also,I am not sure how Audio-quality is compared (streaming over wlan/lan vs. Bluetooth).
so this could be a bottle-neck with Bluetooth.
For Example my PC (with Discord) is in my Office, i play with Steam-Deck on the couch in another room.
If i connect over Bluetooth with my PC for Audio, the sound travels from my Steam-Deck to my PC to my Headset (non bluetooth headset). This could lead to an unpleasent delay while gaming.

Plus with some Bluetooth-Setups i have problems with the distance PC-Couche.

Steam has already implemented "Audio+Video" Streaming over client,
so this should in theory be a "relative" easy to implement feature.
(Streaming Audio over wlan to devices).

And if this is included in Steam it could be OS-independent.

Windows recognizes the deck as an audio output device. Not an input

I would also love this feature. It’s a shame that the Bluetooth Audio Receiver app does not recognize the steam deck as a source.

Have you gotten this to work? It doesn't seem to see the steam deck for me.

I tried and wasn't able to get it working. The steam deck can only be recognized as an audio output device. Not an input
Hi' Im late to the party on this. I do that with my windows machine and my linux machine with a piece of software called scream, it'd be awesome if valve included it in the steam deck os !

Unfortunately, this seems to be only for streaming windows audio to Linux, not the other way around. FYI, you can stream audio from other Bluetooth devices to SteamDeck natively, you don't need a 3rd party app for that.

I connected my steam deck to my pc through bluetooth then connected my headphones to the steam deck. This allows me to watch netflix and listen to music from the computer and play games on the deck and hear everything through the same set of headphones

Maybe im too late but I found a solution. You can download a steam link for windows and adjust streaming settings to send only audio.

In case anyone finds this post and needs a solution, or anyone in the post for that matter. I spent the good part of the day today trying to find a solution.... and I did! :praisesun:

Use the STEAM LINK software:

You can go into the settings after installing it and pairing your device and set it to only share the sound.

I have a dock with my steam deck and when i try to plug in my 3.5mm with the dock I get a lot of buzzing and no audio, without the dock it's totally mint. I can plug in the deck and have it on my second monitor and then turn Steam Link on and once it's running I can just hide the window or open up the show I want to watch over it.
