Is that so complicated?
It's a store, of course they'll show adds.
Not everyone wants that and also a huge part of Steam is it being a go-to platform for the indie game devs and so indie game sales, which explains why Steam would design their UI with these “ads” in mind instead of just focusing on the top sellers.
You can choose not to constantly scroll down, just un-tick it.. SEARCH OPTIONS
Store is based... as they say today.
I don't normally find interesting games to look at without spending 10 minutes on customizing the search, and finding only one worthy to buy takes so long it's easier to look anywhere else but Steam really.
This is just plain garbage UI. Its a store but the first thing they show me when I login is ADs even before clicking on Store.
When I click on store the first thing I want to see is the is trending, upcoming games and the top sellers. Why do they have to use the whole width of the screen width real estate to show top seller? Why do I have to see 1000 ads as the first thing when I click on store. I never even buy anything 95 percent of the time from ads because 95 percent of the time its games that are not good going on sale or that are old already. They are games I am not looking for nor neither interested. If I want a deal on a game I would just go the actual Store game page to see if It has a deal available. If anything its just a annoying experience. I am a paying customer. I just want a seamless experience to the store, not ads. They should have a link to a separate page for exploring deals if I want to look at ads.
I assume you’re going to provide the community with examples of UI experiences that you have designed? You seem to be quite the UI critic so you’re clearly an expert in the subject.
100% This.
Personally I love the Steam store UI. I have found plenty of new games through its ads/recommendations. If I see a game I have zero interest in then I add it to my ignore list. I can't think of a gaming platform store UI that is better than Steam's...kind of weird that someone can be so triggered over 2 seconds of mouse scrolling.
That you are a paying customer is irrelevant, it doesn't magically make your opinion worth more. After all there are paying customers who like the UI you don't like.
I showed you how to acces the lists you want in a quick way. Use that.
