eg: You pay SHIB or whatever crypto to visa, who then settles the payments in USD to Steam, and you get the game.
No sane company will turn its more or less predictable stream of revenue into a lottery ticket. Whenever that lottery ticket doesn't pay out, your company can't pay its bills and it will have to file for bankruptcy.
Crypto is just the latest in a very long stream of ponzi schemes. Only the first guys profit, the rest get robbed.
I'd love to see your expression when you are "paid" in crypto vapor money and your landlord demands actual cash.

Maybe Crypto is the future. But the future isn't here yet. And Valve isn't missing out by not adopting something first. Call us up when Amazon and Wal*Mart accept it. In the meantime the claim that cash is dead is a few minute premature. It's the thing all major retailers are still using predominately.
But then again, maybe I don't know why my money in the bank is worth anything either! :P
