also to ignore steamdb or for a change using it ...
when adding user tag demo or so it helps to use tag as search
Oh I was speaking about the library page. Forgot to mention that but that's where the "collections" are. I'd just like the demos to appear at the top of the page mostly, and I can easily do that manually but it'd be nice to make it automatic for events like this one where people download multiple demos at once.
But your suggestion is also very valid, it can only be good to be able to search for them. Would make demos a much more viable promotion venue for devs
on startpage you can "add shelf" where you can put in demos/prologues after adding your library cxollection
To get them on top i would say put " -- " before text like " --Demos-- " then you have that on top for yourself in library.
Possible with Beta / Playtest also or with your 2nd Favorites (as Favorites on top anyway)
maybe you already knew, i just give advice/s :)
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?category1=10
the steam store search already has a category for demos so why not just use that?
Yep, that's exactly my setup right now. But like said above the idea is to automate all that
Well, that solves the searching, but does nothing for collections. As for the technical aspect of it, I don't know Steam's backend obviously but I am sure there must be a flag that can be targeted. Once downloaded all demos behave the same way so they should have a way to distinguish them from full on games. Even if they are derivative store items and not standalone.
Or well, one would at least hope so...
