Steam Backup (and Restore) enhancement idea
Because my Internet connection is very slow i must make a Backup of Steam games, before reinstalling my computer. So i use Steam Backup but then i found some "problems":

I can backup all games at once, but only in a single "file".
I think, this option would be better:
When making a backup, i can select the games i want to backup (as now), and an additional Button "Select all".
Then i should be able to use an option "each game a single game directory" instead of one directory with an extreme long name. Especially with over 100 games the name is way too long ;)

Additional problem that there are only few informations while the backup is running and those informations are wrong!
When selecting 2 games of each 1GB the backup says 1GB and shows time, then it shows 2GB and the " new" time.

Wouldnt it be easier to say "X of Y games saved, this game: x/y MB, total Z MB" and for the time one for the "total" estimated and one from the currenct game?

Additional when finishing there is NO info, what game(s) are backuped just in the last action only a "finished" screen appears.
A Buttoun with "show games saved" should be there not only the one for the directory to open.

That would be awesome in my opinion!...

When restoring a game, the same options would be great to select multiple archives/directoriey and not only one.

i agree with that for sure.or just dowhat i do and use a external hard drive and download all your steam games on it. then never need to worry about the steam for your backing up of games.
It IS on a second Hard Drive, but without backup option i cnt reinstall or do i?
Now, after finishing reinstalling windows, i am working on restoring steam games...

The restore Option is REALLY missing the option to search for steam backup games in a special directory and then select, which one qou want to recover!

Especially, because some games are mot able to Backup (every time steam takes endless hours for the last "bytes" etc) and to prevent "500gb-file-directories) it would be much better with another backup/restore-structure.

Idea for information and Backup:
1. Click "backup&restore
2. Select "Backup"
3. A List with all games (and their size in MB or GB)
3a. Select all games you wish to backup
4. Select backup position
4a. Should be possible to change the "standard" backup directory!
5. Start Backup
5a. Show following datas while backup:
5aa. Backup status show some information more like:
Actual Game: blablabla aa/bb MB saves estimated time zz seconds Total: xxx of yyy Games aa of bb GB

6. After Backup finished, showing Backup takes xx time (hours, minutesm, seconds)
for yyy GB from zzz games
6a. A Button with "Show ful list of games backupes". This shows the games you just saves.
6aa. "Save backup information" for writing this information to a text file (Game name and size)

Idea for information and Restore:
1. Click "backup&restore
2. Select "Restore"
3. Select position where backuops are
3a. Should be possible to change the "standard" backup directory!
4. Now reading the directory for games from steam-backup
4a. showing all games found and select which to restore.
4b. Show position, where to install
5. restoring games like "normal" putting in "Download" section...
6. Show total information (like in backup)

Note: When restoring more games, steam load it from the Internet, instead from the harddrive!

So its a BUG so far!
