why can we rate stuff on the workshop without experiencing them ?

why is this even a thing in 2022 ?
why is it call ratiing ?
its clearly not a rating. but more of a Popularity thing

it need to be redesigned to be a TURE rating
make it so that subscriber need to experience the workshop item for 2 hours before they can rate it. also make it so thay can give 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars not just that stupid thumb up

that way, my items wont get downvoted by trolls.
and the people that use the workshop as a popularity contest will leave.
and only the items that are of QUALITY will rise up and the bad stuff will stay at the bottom.

Valve/Steam only knows how long the base game was played for. There is no way to verify what mod was used how long in game. Same goes for DLC.

I have people that follow me , just to wait and rate my stuff down. when I release it
they dont use the item, they don't download it, they just rate it down for cuz they hate me they also report every single one of them ever if it not "reportable"
when enought report are in , thye item get aoto lock, and I have to make a appela to remove the ban.

I cant block them I can't remove them from the foloower list.... the current system only favor the bot/abuser

I cant block them

They don't need to actually use your items. They can look at it and make a decision right there. It is just live wallpaper. It isn't like a game mod that is a map level design. It can be viewed just by looking at it.
But at least, they must own the game to rate it at all.

it is impossible to make a well though judgement only with the 256x256 preview image am sorry. you can make a inital deduction if it is apealing to you, but rating it only by judging the preview image no am sorry that the stuff that should be took off.

do you rate movie only by watching the trailer ?

I did look at your stuff and to be honest, it looks more like what you would put into an artwork showcase on Steam rather than anything I would put on my desktop as a wallpaper.
It looks like most of what you do is already part of what every music player since the 90's has done in their media players.

A lot of your stuff isn't even looped properly, so the quality is not really there, that is likely why you're getting people downvoting the content. It clearly isn't finished and jumps, which ruins it.

Given the importance of that, and how these are not like movie trailers, your defense is a deflection rather than admitting there's quality issues.

Also some recoloring of something not looped properly, still makes it equally worthless to many people. You also left out some context in this thread compared to this:

If you're going to make a suggestion, OP, be truthful about the reason(s) behind a suggestion. If you worked harder on your content and looped things properly, people might give you better ratings.

sorry all my loop are perfect. if its not perfect it is because the original artist did not made it perfect.
