An option to hide NSFW items in the steam points shop
Every once in a while I go to the points shop to see what's new and each time I find new hentai items, again and again, and now 50% or more of the points shop is just hentai backgrounds and avatars, so I have suggested to the steam support to add this option or to apply it from the regular steam store since it is an option there.

Point still remains, you can block by title, publisher, & genre on the actual store; so, why not implement the same feature in the Points Shop?

Who cares what someone's reason is for wanting to not see a specific item; the content doesn't have to be taken down or censored on the platform, it can just adhere to being filtered by user preferences.

This would increase the likelihood that users will engage favorably with the platform by increasing customer quality of experience & satisfaction.

It's, also, pretty funny to see some users who seemingly are rejecting the idea of blocking things via user preferences, when they're currently using pre-existing user-preference features to block other things, themselves.

There's no hentai backgrounds or avatars there. Just because they're catgirls doesn't turn them into hentai.

That^. None of what is on the Points Shop is actual "NSFW" items. In fact, that is exactly how Valve intended it to be. Less moderation of user generated NSFW uploaded content.

They all come from hentai games, and they're definitely inappropriate. I would not like to see this type of content on my screen, so what's the issue with adding an option? won't hurt anyone

There's nothing inappropriate about them. If there was, they wouldn't be in the Points Shop to begin with. There's no nudity, no overtly suggestive content and no abusive imagery.

You can suggest what you want and the rest of us can discuss your suggestion freely. That includes disagreeing with your suggestion and pointing out flaws in it.

Specify example(s) that you consider inappropriate, please. :KentConfused:

I understand that we can discuss, but what do you mean there's no suggestive content? that's straight-up false. Have you even seen these backgrounds/avatars? there's no way that I'm the only person who thinks it's too sexualized...

Adult Content

Points Shop assets must be globally all-ages appropriate, as they are not age-gated. Regardless of what is included in-game, assets should not include adult content or realistic gore. Adult content includes:
  • Partial or full nudity
  • Sexually suggestive situations
  • Young-looking characters in risqué outfits or situations
  • Upskirt or upshirt imagery
  • Imagery where the central focus is sexually suggestive (ex: an image of a bra or panties).

Valve will provide feedback on potentially inappropriate content.

Now that you read that, If you have an issue, report the items through the games store page.

Ok sure:
https://store.steampowered.com/points/shop/app/1504020/reward/110740
https://store.steampowered.com/points/shop/app/1504020/reward/110750

https://store.steampowered.com/points/shop/c/backgrounds/cluster/0/reward/110403
https://store.steampowered.com/points/shop/c/avatar/reward/112314

There are many more but these ones specifically are way too obvious in their sexualization.
None of that is inappropriate or overly suggestive.
So why the crusade? What is wrong with any of these compared to modern music videos, depictions in hollywood, on tv, etc? Are womens shorts or more coverage swimsuits too little coverage? Seriously, this is all very mild stuff compared to what's really out there.

And you think I'm ok with what's in music or movies? anyways, yes this is mild compared to that, but it's still suggestive for sure, and again the games that these items came from are hidden on the store page, so all I'm asking is for them to also be hidden in the points shop for those who don't wish to see them.

So a simple case of being angry for the sake of being angry.
Grow up.
You don't like it? No one forces you to buy it.

I was forced to buy 8 items because of this thread.

Habibi, I want to use the points shop since I'm interested in buying animated avatars and backgrounds, and now 50% of it is sexual which is disturbing, you might disagree with me (as we've seen from 100% of the people in this post) so that's why I'm only asking for an OPTION, not permanently ban it for everyone.

Less than 50% of them are what you are complaining about. Please don't just spout out random percentages.

And you were told that all content in the point shop must be family friendly.
Considering you're the only one here offended by the shop content, maybe you should reflect on that.
