Then heck, going further, it could list all your friends who have each game, in a little box under said game's title. So you can see right off the bat which friends have which game. So you can figure out who could play it with you vs who doesn't have it yet.
Maybe even, add a section you can click to expand containing search filters, which lists all your friends, each with a checkbox next to their names. You can then select or de-select each friend, and use that as a filter to see if there are any games in common between 574RF0X, Xena-Warrior-Princess, Cool_Skeleton95, and TheLegend27 because you feel like playing with your more energetic friends, but later you may want to search for games-in-common specifically with your more mellow friends Green_Mario, iwantdie, and Gordan-Expensiveman after a tiring day.
And not just for your library (though that'd be important), but could also be a means of shopping for games. In the Store search, you can also use that filter, that way you can see if there's a game you don't know about that a certain group of your friends happen to all have, and you can look into it and see if you'd be interested in it too.
Potential increase in socially-driven sales, and easier ways for us to play with our friends. Win-win, I say! :D
(Note, screen names made up on the spot and/or memes and references just as examples; matching with real users is purely coincidental.)
Exactly, when looking for a game to play, the last thing you want to do is to click trough everyone in your friend group and check which games you have in common. Sure you can do it with one or two friends, but any more than that and it feels like you're doing homework. The option to check entire group at once would be very helpful.
I also like your idea for store search.
And its not like it would be some hard to implement feature, there are already tools for it. All there is to do is for steam to put them all together.
