Steam Coupons + Returning Games for Coupons
I'd like to see Steam start issuing coupons that can be used for most games in general similar to what Epic has been doing but, as well, I know a lot of people have massive libraries of garbage to wade through and I think it would be great to be able to turn in unwanted games from library towards said coupons.
There would be different tiers
ie;
Amateur Games 4 for one 5% Off coupon
Indie Games 4 for one 10%
Right up to 70% Off if someone is silly enough to ditch a pricier AAA game.
Also coupons could be crafted together for larger discounts up to 50% off.

I think this would be a great way to not only compete with Epic but also Ubi and EA who have started subscription services.
It's also a safe way of turning in old library games without leaving a massive wallet open to hackers who may, temporarily, hijack and spend said wallets.

The issue, who should pay for it?
Valve wont get any refunds for a game you trade in. The 10% off coupon has to be paid by valve.

Ubi and EAG are bad examples, since they dont have to pay any devs for any sale. They can give away games for free and unlike Valve or Epic they dont have to pay for it.

And Epic. They just got a lot of cash they use to get more active accounts. They are afraid of competition, so they use chinadollars to kill competition.

The same one that paid for the $5 coupon you received for spending $50+ during the summer event.

PS: I am not saying that the suggestion is any good - it's not. I just wanted to sort out the issue of who is paying

The fact such a feature would allow in an instant a massive ammount of discount coupons may offer a hint as to why it's unlikely to become a thing.

Competition is not symmetrical. Steam doesn't need to compete with Epic as much as Epic needs to compete with Steam.
