Allow computer BankID in Sweden (not just mobile) for payments!

Recently, the computer BankID method was specificly disallowed in Sweden - forcing us to use our mobile phones for BankID which is required for all payments. There exist both BankID (for computers) and Mobilt BankID (for mobile phones) from the same ID provider which Steam use.

The support is just one clickbox away. Then I can pay for games again. I missed out on every christmas sale opportunity just because I can't use my mobile phone to ID myself for payments. And I still can't buy anything at all on steam. Please adress this problem!

It might be a problem. It might be a deliberate effort to combat fraud and chargebacks in Sweden by forcing the use of 2FA for BankID. It's difficult to say without knowing what Valve is having happen on their side.

You could do as i do until some other payment is accepted from Sweden. Use paysafecodes obtained from pressbyrån or other that sell these.
Yes, you will need a paysafe account. Go to their website, and yes it's free.
There is a slight extra charge from pressbyrån for this. 5 or 10 kronor.
Paysafe is a option here on steam, at least for the time being.

Thats more a bank issue than a steam issue. Your bank requires it. SO talk to your bank about that requirement

Swedbank is my bank so the question ended up in the right place - don't worry.

I have an opinion about mobile ID being more secure. It's a heck of alot easier to catch the ID process on camera in a busy city and then steal the mobile - as opposed to strait up joink my gaming rig from my home.

Swedbank is my bank so the question ended up in the right place - don't worry.

This tends to be not the case as once I compomise your system, meaning that if the token is on the computer, I can rip the token, copy it, and then authorize transactions elsewhere because I hvae the seed.

Yes and no. That can't be done. It's locked to the IP-adress and one has to authorize the change of IP-adress with a little ten-digit ID codebox in the internet bank. In other words you would still have to steal my ID codebox thingy from my home in order to make it work. It's not that simple to con the bank.

The latest development is a usb card reader to ID through the computer. Still havn't figured out if it's any better. My immidiate reaction is that it creates a criminal opportunity to steal real ID's in large scale to use them in the reader.
