as a side to this, it would be nice to not be forcefully redirected to the custom url when visiting the full community id

It would be nice, especially when they give you no warning that you won't be able to go back to it as you are setting your custom URL

I had a thought that this is to sort of help mitigate hijack attempts where the scammer will "reset" a person's profile including their name and URL to the default SteamID.



Or they're finally going to reclaim unused names or something.

Why we can't remove steam custom url or make it back to original ?
If it's permanent why no warning ?
If it's feature/function get disable what the reason ?
Can steam support help us to remove the steam custom url ?
If steam support can't do it, who can help us to solve it ?

It will be nice if we can remove steam custom url and make it back to original, so people will stop asking steam support or posting it every day

What was your old one? If it was taken, they can't let you have it back anyways

I had to change my URL to another one. Even though it removes your URL when you remove it, this bug shows the same URL for your profile.

I've seen the third-party sites using the new removed URL when you remove it, but the issue is with stupid steam.
