Collaboration Bit Torrent Speed (BTT token) and Steam
While the internet is developing into a new era, where the great tech company's try to controle it. There is the free Web. Torrenting and sharing files has been done for a while and will be done in the future.

My suggestion, the Bit Torrent Token can be earned by seeding files for other customers to be downloaded. The collaboration will happen if steam can implement the BTT token in their own online store. So we the steamers can seed oure libary of games and earn BTT tokens in return to spend in the game store.

This could improve the download times on lots of game's, earn us all some money.
I say buy some bittorrent tokens right now, and launch this idea to the moon.

Note; while this is a fantastic idea, i dont have the knowledge to see if this is even realistic.

i don't really understand how this would improve download times?

steam servers are pretty fast.

Download speeds are perfectly fine...

Valve is not going to pay you for bandwidth. Especially an account with 15 games. That just sounds silly.

i see i wasnt that clear, valve is not gonna pay. By seeding files you accumulate Bittorrent tokens (a Cryopto coin) Check it out: https://www.bittorrent.com/nl/token/bittorrent-speed/
The download speeds might be just fine right now, but by sharing the cost (letting more people seed) the servers bills can be cut down, more people can earn a buck. Letting money flow is usually good for buisness.

I'm not looking to just seed my tiny liberary, but i think that bittorrent's way of making the internet a more open structure can be profitable.

Valve doesn't need users help with downloads.

This is why there are over 130 server regions.

This is basically today's thread.

Defiunetly not needed for steam but if you can seed some old games from other platform like psx or dos then will be nice coz no one have good option to buy some games and only old copy games seeded in torent can return great old tuttle another life.

Beside Valve not needing help with the server situation, there is way more to this.
Piracy: Lots of people download games using utorrent this day. giving seeders an alternative and better reason to not seed illegal but legal within a steam enviroment with the option to earn some btt. sound good right?

I would see it more as a win-win situation, its a feature for the customers and a cost saving for valve

So basically you want to recieve free "money" for doing nothing? Yep, most certainly todays thread.

All the fluff you make up doesn't change that, btw.

i know this isnt the reddit forum to post about pump coins. But yeah as investor i would like to see BTT go to the moon. Beside that i do think that BTT and Valve could have a meaning full colaboration.
Brian9824 Feb 2, 2021 @ 10:57am
This will NEVER happen. Valve is never going to facilitate sending people files that were outside their controls. Anyone could download a file and attach a virus to it and then use your idea to spread it......
fluff coin for when doing nothing means no money... :wasted:

Well, thanks for the feedback guys. When you have a idea that benefits your own goals it all looks like gold.

I do understand that there isnt directly a usecase for this. there is no problem right now that has to be fixed.

well, we will see what the future of BTT holds, i do for a fact know that TRON is looking for ways to monotize the bittorrent network in a better way, The Bit Torrent Token is a way of doing that. lets hope for the best.

like i said i aint a ict-expert in any way.

Are you arguing that people are pirating games on torrents because Valve doesn't distribute over torrents? Or because you believe Valve's download speeds are too slow? Or are you saying that earning BTT is so lucrative that people are rushing to engage in piracy? Because that would certainly negatively effect the legitimacy of BTT beyond it just being a YACC (yet another crypto currency.

Either way I'm not seeing a real strong argument. Just spaghetti being flung at the wall.
PROdutchy Feb 2, 2021 @ 2:53pm
First of all i really dont hope that bittorrent speed will contribute in a increase of piracy.

second; i am really just tossing some spaghetti around, like i said i bought some BTT and was thinking about another world usecase where its value, 'a decentralized network of peers' can be meaningfull.
Steam came to mind because i simply thought that given the gaming population is more/less just like the reddit community this idea could get a warm welcome.

I didnt think beyond any of all that, of course i would love to start a hype around BTT, but that doesnt seem very realistic.

but at the end i do think that we will move towards cryptocurrency's for buying games and stuff online. there is a shift happening and the whole robinhood situation makes thing just develop faster.

(so sorry for my english btw,)

Using any sort of P2P acceleration is likely not feasible since the packed content is discarded once unpacked.
