Bit-chute support
Because the youtube embedding seems to not work via the Steam UI (you must use a browser to add videos to your Steam profile), I wonder if it'd be prudent for Valve to consider supporting Bit-chute, an alternative to Youtube that seems to be getting more traction than other video sites that aren't YouTube.

Had to add a hyphen in the name due to Steam's profanity filters.

It was added to the filter a long time ago. That's probably why they will not use it instead of YouTube.

Youtube embedding does not work within the confines of Steam's UI and the reason why Bit-chute (sans hyphen) is considered to be a swear word is because it contains the word ♥♥♥♥♥.

I turned off the filter. I don't see the hearts. My mistake.

But the issue with YouTube is something that Google changed on their end.

Would it not be more prudent for Valve to look for alternative services for reliability's sake? Right now, video sharing on Steam is being bottlenecked by having to use a browser to embed videos instead of the UI i'm using right now.
I can't believe I didn't remember this...

Geez. You made another thread about it...

Not really. They haven't said anything about what their plans are for YouTube video we uplod, if they are going to fix it or do something else. But I dont see why Bitchute is a better alternative than any other video hosting site if it comes down to changing it.

First line of wikipedia, looked there given that I never heard of it:
BitChute is a video hosting service known for accommodating far-right individuals and conspiracy theorists, and for hosting hateful content. The platform was created in 2017 to allow video uploaders to avoid content rules enforcement on YouTube, and some creators who have been banned from YouTube or had their channels barred from receiving advertising revenue ("demonetised") have migrated to BitChute.

Yeah... that sounds like something Valve wants to associate with. :rfacepalm:

YouTube embeds seem to have a habit of constantly breaking within Steam's environment. Having more options than just the one is probably a necessity at this point
