Don't freak out from VPN

Every time I switch a VPN server the steam freaks out and closes all my games and asks for a password. Besides the fact that VPN is a norm nowadays I live in a very restricted country and without VPN internet is not accessible. Please make it work with VPN

Perhaps Valve should just offer an official VPN. They have the money and know-how to take care of the most difficult aspect, the servers. If Valve offered a proper VPN, I would be comfortable paying $2 a month for it. I am sure other people would be happy to pay up to $10 a month, but I would realistically pay $2 regularly for it.

As my original post said, before a moderator accidentally suspended me for making it, it is very bigoted of people to insist users from other countries should have a worse time just because they have to use a VPN in order to play games. We should support Steam users, not belittle their importance. The needs of the individual Steam user should matter more than prejudice toward their country.

I'm not sure what you are talking about, right now it's possible without problems to play steam games with a VPN, however it's understandable that it's not allowed, because VPNs can easily be abused for multiplayer games. Some may use it to trick the matchmaking system, others may purposely give themselves a high ping, which will have a negative impact on other peoples multiplayer experience in that game.

Wouldn't ping be due to adding extra hops between the players?

It would likely cause problems with p2p and central server games since it changes the hops you take.
