if a moderator or group admin could split a lengthy side discussion off from the main thread, and move it to a new thread of its own, to keep things from getting too off-topic or too convoluted.
Most forums have such a feature, but having to do that every single time this happens can add additional time, especially when it stems from the same users, so it's better to lock them rather than show the behavior is acceptable.

Also it seems interesting the suggestion is 'multi threading', then OP bumps most of their recent threads to the front shortly after. Perhaps a single thread for "my suggestions for the steam discussions" instead of multiple threads within short time periods each day or constantly bumping threads to the top after creating a thread, since such a habit is frowned upon.

Why did you edit her quote that referred to moderators or admins having control of your multi-thread suggestions?

Being insincere in quoting someone makes it appear you are fabricating “support” for your suggestion.
Intentionally misquoting in attempt to change the way the thread is going, or to manipulate material in favor of ones own position when it is in opposition to it, is intentionally starting issues/an argument around the misquote. Also appears as if the op is not open to discussion, having to fabricate support in order to respond to anything. :cozycastondeath:

Wait, why did you edit her post to take powers away from the mods and admins to then give it to the average user?
Fixed that for you. Never assume everyone here is a "him", thanks. :Elegance:

But also- I am not shocked they edited my post to make it fit their narrative. Seems on-brand.
That kid is more fragile than broken glass that's why. His posting history confirms as such based on how many posts he has made demanding the ability to punish anyone who disagrees with him.

There is also the way he uses alt accounts to support his ideas as well. He's actually nuts and I am shocked he still isn't banned from this forum for the amount of rules he breaks on the daily.

True, it would make moderation a pain in these forums, game hub forums and Group forums, especially for volunteer moderators and Group admin who may have limited free time, which they would prefer to spend playing games instead of moving and merging threads and sub-threads.

So the idea to keep a thread manageable...is to allow it to sprout into a multi-headed hydra?

Lets just say what you're really think. You want the ability to isolate yourself from any counter argument and critique. All your previous actions and threads basically speak to that observation.

If you want an excho chamber Facebook. Or if you simply must have it on STeam create a Group. That way you can have a nice memebers only forum/echo chamber. You can gather yourselfves up into a nice circle and tell each other how smartt you are and get all the headpats you want.

In fact..please do that.

You are going to have to give an example for that because I don't see how this is supposed to work or how it would help keep anything on topic. If anything it would make more things unmanageable since you would have a moderation nightmare.

Not really, it'd be harder to derail the conversations and moderators can just delete/ban the person in their thread within the convo like you see on reddit. The person talking about something completely different and his commenters are just gone and the thread can continue without a hitch.

Currently in steam all a few people have to do is have a personal argument and then the thread has to be locked due to derailment.

It takes more than just a personal argument , rather it basically boils down to the thread itself having now meaningful pruporse. Competing monologues does not a discussion make.

Take the OP for example. His threads, and those of his friends, tend to get locked because it because pretty clear in short order that they have zero interest in actually discussing ideas or topics but rather just blindly asserting whatever they want.

In the current set up its actually quite easy for moderators to pickout trouble makers and bad faith actors. Multi0-threading just complicates the matter.

Yep, threads are allowed to go on for hundreds of pages if actual discussion is taking place.

However the threads the OP and his friends are involved in are less about discussing the idea and more about arguing with users and moderators about how they don't have say why their idea is good or explain what benefit it provides and refuse to discuss the flaws with it...

Hence why you can see all their locked threads in suggestions while other threads miracously aren't locked...

I hate nested forums and avoid them as I struggle to read them comfortably, so personally, I wouldn't want this implemented unless it was optional and could be toggled off to keep posts consecutive only.

Same here. I don't use Reddit often (usually I land there through a Google search), but I find that forum structure to be annoying and not informative at all.

It's so obvious the op wants this so it's harder for the mods to punish him when he goes off on ridiculous tangents and arguments.

He's banned too so...
It's hilarious that they created a thread with "rules for the subforum" and consequently break just about every rule on it themselves in every thread.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
