Ability to swap configs between individual buttons

I use the switch pro controller on steam and I've recently come across a community config which uses the dualshock 4 as the basis for the bindings. Naturally the buttons aren't properly configured to work with the switch procon so I tried to look for a way to swap the configs on the individual buttons but I can't find a way to do that. Keep in mind, this isn't a simple swap of the buttons or assigning something like the "a" button to use the "x" button's funcitions, there are multiple keybindings, action sets and action layers set towards a specific button and I can't properly utilize the configs with a comfortable controller setting. I need the ability to swap out these singular button settings.

If you select other types of controllers when choosing a config steam should convert it for you, is your problem that A and B are swapped?

My problem is that it feels uncomfortable. To give a bigger context to my situation, the creator of this community config has made it before for the switch controller version but it became unavailable. I am stuck with using a different version, the dualshock version, but the keybindings are different all over. Not just that A and B are swapped, but everything else feels off with this new config I started to use. Now, I plan on swapping all of these configs back to what I was comfortable with but the amount of different bindings in the config make it far too complicated and difficult for just a simple rebinding. What I want is the ability to swap between all the configs since I might also be able to make the config more comfortable for my tastes.

in steam controller settings you should be able to force A and B to be swapped. Maybe you should look into Steam input guides and try to do one for yourself, or message the creator and ask them to put their switch version back up

I could use xbox button configuration for the switch but it's a flawed solution since it requires constant switching when getting into my other games and it messes with some inputs as well. I feel I need to reiterate that this config uses keyboard controls and every button on the controller has separate layers to its actions, so just forcing them to swap isn't as easy. I have checked other guides and there wasn't a solution for my particular problem. I also messaged the creator already but it seems they're busy as of the moment.
