Not really. The problem is the current options just don't work. Sure you can filter them out but along with them you filter out a lot of perfectly acceptable games.
I am really sick and tired of Steam pestering me with these games, and what they need is a simple, recognisable tag that is enforced. I have seen a lot of people complaining on these forums, who really just don't want to see this weird stuff.
Valve needs to define a tag that they can put all these games in to and then classify the games themselves. Too much work? Then don't sell them Valve, it's that simple.
There should also be clear warnings on games that have been down-rated ( censored ) because very often the theme of these games is still very, shall we say "strange".
Note how you didn't even threaten to shop elsewhere? Valve doing nothing more than they're already doing maximises their profits. They're not going to spend money to make less. You and others like you clearly don't see this as something worth abandoning steam over.
As for the thread title, I see plenty of husband and wife reviews on these games.
And what perfectly acceptable games do you filter out when you untick Adult Only Sexual Content? If you say The Witcher 3 which is always brought up you're just plain wrong. It falls under a different category and is even shown in the category examples.
most of the types of games op suggested filtering are porn. no more (or less) artistic than hustler magazine ever was.
if people are prepared to buy it why do they care if it s labelled porn?
assassins creed odyssey is consider sexually explicit. I'd consider it an a + game. the elder scrolls games as well.
we all know the difference between an assassins creed odyssey and boobs saga
none of those are tagged properly and cant be filtered without other games that just have plain nudity and no sexually explicit content.
they need to remove the use of users ability to tag games, almost all games are tagged wrong and some simply tagged as nonsense because of trolls.
i dont like seeing that anime porn nonsense either, but... by filtering or un-ticking "adult only sexual content" they are still visible as they arent tagged properly and as mentioned also block other games not tagged properly.
you also find tons of that nonsense (which includes anime porn, real life porn, racist stuff, ect..) in "wall paper engine", which seemingly goes unmoderated and users are forced to report 100's of them almost daily, because the devs tell you they cant moderate what isnt reported, yet they fail to understand its their job to moderate their product and can easily skim through artwork/screenshots/ect.... and remove what is against steam rules.
As I said before, if the developers want to make these type of games and sell them on steam, I have no problem with that. It is up to steam and valve what they want and are willing to sell. Freedom of expression is what all artists (yes, I believe games of all types are art) deserve.
To the person who made a remark about my discussion heading and anyone else who was offended, I do sincerely apologize. It was not a good title for what I wanted to be an open discussion. If I had used a better tittle I'm sure more people would have joined in the discussion.
One last note, thank you all for keeping it mostly civilized. No insults, just open, informative, helpful discussion.

Adult Only Sexual Content
Tick this box if you are okay seeing games that contains sexual content that is explicit or graphic and is intended for adults only.
So many users seem to not understand this feature. Notice the words "explicit" and "graphic".
edit: For those censored graphic novels that fly near the sun, filtering out "Hentai" works wonders without blocking the good old Anime that we all love. If you don't play visual novels, filtering out that tag as well would mean basically never seeing those games that go right up to the line without technically crossing it.
I have all VN and VR blocked and still does no good. Keep getting slammed with all the blocked stuff.
Yet another reason I have not checked my que yet this year. I am FORCED to use steam to play my games but I am not FORCED to support them with my wallet.
User tags are a joke. I can not count how many times I have seen games mislabeled. The "why it is recommended" is a joke. An EXACT copy of Stardew Valley was shown to me because I play Batman Gotham City?
Steam has turned into a joke with the reviews, the new medical problem UI, the algorithm that does not work, and to many other things since they got greedy and went for quantity over quality business model.
I have no problem with people who want their anime porn games, but I am sick of people telling me to block it, yet when I do block it, it does no good as it is now flooding the market and all the setting get ignored.......................kind of like the feedback during the new UI beta.
ya most of those options dont work, same goes for the option of not showing broadcasts (streaming) on the steam store page, i have it checked to not show them, yet they are still shown on the store page...
the check box is to "HIDE" all broadcast... it literally says...
"Hide all live broadcasts on the store product pages."
key word here is "HIDE", which means they should be hidden from view and not seen at all on the store page.
so when i check that box, i should not be seeing them at all, they should be hidden just like it says in the text after the check box.
so like i said, it does not "work perfectly fine" and sure isnt "working as intended".
i wont even go into detail about all the other issues/problems steam has (aside from the topic of the OP)... its long list.
Some people don't want the broadcast to pop up unless they choose to watch it, that is what the feature is for, the broadcast is not on your screen, it's just a bar saying one is happening. The things people find to complain about. Oh no, valve is telling me their is a broadcast showing the game being played to help judge if I might like it, how horrible to be presented that option.
Your original post was deceptive and made it seem like the actual broadcast was showing up on you screen and the option did nothing.
