Hide specific games from profile
Somehow be able to hide chosen games from appearing on your steam profile game list, recent game activity etc. This is already a feature for steam games that have been removed/banned.
You have them in your steam library, community hub sometimes work but they never appear on your steam profile nor your activity. Please don't come with the "just make your games private", this is a suggestion.

Please use the search feature. There are tons of threads on this subject but on to my post.

Another thread about this

Will insert my copy paste below

Just don't buy games that you are too embarrassed to have in your library or get a second account for such games.

This would also be abused by people playing/buying games that they should not be playing.

These threads popup all the time and most commonly they want to hide the games from family members.

No reason for kids to be able to hide games from parents or family members they should not be playing. So people clearly benefit from not having this option.

Also if people are to immature to have said games in their library without hiding them then they shouldn't be playing them either.

I get your point but when you have been collecting these type of games for several years on your main account it's too late for that. I currently made my games private but at the same time I don't want the rest of my normal games to be. That's the dilemma and why I started this thread. I didn't want to comment on an old thread, been banned for doing so in another community hub.

Doesn't change the fact this gets brought up constantly here. Use the search and ADD to 1 of those threads. Much better having a large thread with multiple users about the same thing than 100's of little ones dotted all over the place.

You won't get a ban for bringing an older thread to life if you are contributing to it and not just bumping/hijacking/spamming it.

We need this feature.

I would love to see this feature as well!
Especially with two-factor enabled and manually having to insert username and password every single time, having two completely separate accounts is just not a feasible solution.
It would be a lot better when at purchase, we could not just select "this is a purchase for myself" and "this is a gift purchase for someone else", we could also select "this is a private purchase for myself"

These sort of replies are so useless.

Don't want to get robbed in your own house? Just store valuables in your garden shed!
Don't want to get flat tires on your car? Just own a motorcycle!

And with a profile and "420" in your name, you don't get to pass judgement on what you think is mature, come on now.

Also, just because a person does not want family members to see specific games they've bought or are playing, does not mean they're kids or teens. You can be an adult and simply not want your smut publicly visible.

And if you're so scared your kids will hide games from you, request a 'parent mode' feature so you can (even remotely from your own account) check up on purchases and games played.
Don't use that completely irrelevant argument in this topic, build your own.

In my case I want to hide it's soundtrack/dlc which appears on the profile as if it were a game. Currently a game has had an update and a soundtrack has been placed on my public list of games. I hate it, I tried to delete just the soundtrack from my account, but it ends up deleting the game together. I spoke with support and the most they did was send me here.

I think you can do it by pressing rigth click

As times go by, people may have changing preferences, what they wanna present about their library to others. Any option to adapt the client to personal preferences is a good suggestion, so i like this feature request.

As usually, it should be an "opt in", so people should have to manually activate this feature, to avoid confusion for those, who did not know about it and don´t like "surprises" to be added automatically by an update.

Those who try to tell us, it would be abused to hide "nasty" games from parents, don´t get me wrong, but if you would switch your profile to private your parents could not see anything about your collection of "chainsaw massacre pink pony slasher part 1 - 5" anyways.

Parental control is a different story and needs to be addressed in a smarter way than having to "stalk" your kid´s profiles...

ask steam for make pocket security such is seen before a folder with access for things you dont want other get hans on, maybe thats what you looking for a safe with extra security in top of this with adult games or shooter games you dont want your kids to see,
point is if its even tic tac toe game, a user can lock them away as privat , no friends or other can ever see it, again ask steam nicely.

just because i have seen such , dont mean steam can do it asap.

Bumping this thread as its title is exactly what i searched in steam to find help on this issue.

I have adult games on steam which I am happy to for my friends to know I own and play, but I have family members on steam that I would rather not prompt questions next time I see them. My current solution is to private all the games on my profile so that my family members don't see, this seems to be the best solution available as every other option is more drastic and I do not want to un-friend my family members.

I would prefer a way to private individual games so that the rest of my library is visible to my friends and I can use the rest of the features of the steam client, such as: comparing games and achievements to friends, have friends see I am playing a multiplayer game and deciding to join me, and generally having a full and accessible profile.

Either that or a way to set levels of friends on steam so that different friends have different privacy settings associated with them. Anything to help with this issue would be great and would be a benefit to any privacy minded steam user.

Well said, shouldn't be that hard for valve to fix something like this. Just hide specific games on your profile. Most of the removed/banned games already have this feature and it works perfectly. They dont appear on your profile at all but you can still play them and they still wont appear if you have your games on public.

There are absolutely reasons for kids to be able to hide games from their family. Kids deserve their privacy like anyone else, and not everyone is lucky enough to have wonderful open-minded parents. Kids regularly have to hide aspects of themselves from parents to avoid abuse, let alone things they own.

This is nonsense. It’s completely normal for people to own things they don’t put on display on the coffee table.
