Officially Integrate ProtonDB data into Steam
I think it would be great if Valve worked directly with the team at ProtonDB and officially integrate data such as reports, rankings, stats etc into Steam. It's currently possible to sort ones games into categories based on ProtonDB rankings using a python script, but I think it would be beneficial to have this happen automatically with a toggle setting. That would require direct integration with data from ProtonDB and the ability for Steam to cross reference a user's entire game library with that data. It would also be very beneficial to see reports in case a game requires some tweaking or a particular launch command like disabling ESYNC etc.

This would be great. Even better would be to have the games that require protondb to access the database during installation and pull the known workng settings by default for the steam deck. Since everyone on steam deck is using the same setups it shouldnt change between users. And for pc users it could maybe do a hardware match, so if your using the same processor, gpu and os then you get the same default settings. It seems like a waisted oppurtunity when you have your community doing all the leg work of getting things working and documenting it for you, just to not use it to its full potential.

Interesting idea. But that would mean that it gets more transparent how much of a hassle it would be to get certain games running. Not sure if that's in Valve's interest, considering that they don't even allow reviews for the steam deck.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
