Would be nice to observe a Workshop group for a game before buying that game.

Currently, you can't even see if a workshop exists for a game before buying it and discover how deep (or shallow) that workshop is.

Go to a game you don't already own, but should have a workshop (i.e. not a game new to Steam). Even searching the top level workshop community for that game returns nothing if you don't already own the game and for sure the shop page doesn't mention them.

Either developers use steam workshop or they don't. The length of time a game is on Steam is irrelevant. There is no "should have a workshop".

Games that use the workshop let you browse it regardless whether you own the game or not.

You can look at the game's workshop without buying it.
Go to community > Search products > Search the game's name you want to look at > Workshop
