Game specific server status for multiplayer games.
I was looking at a game, Foxhole, it was released in 2017.
I think it would be a lot nice to have a "server status" of the number of player currently on or perhaps number of players seen monthly.
It would benefit those who would like to buy and play a multiplayer only game.

Now before someone says that this would only work for Steam servers I just wanna say they could just provide a developer tool for Steamworks so developers can feed it the appropriate data. The only issue is data can be forged but users who own the game could report this to Valve if they notice something not matching up and that can be dealt with (and game refunds could be offered).

I like the idea of having this data provided without a third party website.

The data is already readily available. Being picky about how you access that data is your own problem.

I don't see your point. This is far better from a developer standpoint and the data is live and accurate. Also Valve could use this data to give better recommendations to players.

Edit: In this day and age data is gold so having a first party solution simplifies the front end and improves the backend (or gives Valve and developers far better tools to work with to use as they please).

In addition they could have data for certain game modes in case a user wants to buy the game for a specific mode.
