Dont ever use the word "latinx" ever again
You most likely have good intentions, but that word really angers a lot of people in latin america

Just use "latin" or "latino/a"

Ok thanks bye

If you're really from Japan, you shouldn't be telling people from other nations how to call themselves though should you? I think they know better.
Even in Japan assumption of gender is no longer OK, it's 2020 not 1920s, you use x instead of o or a in that language because it respects the other person.

But now you're disrespecting the vast majority for the sake of not offending a tiny, tiny minority of people. Friends and family that are hispanic or Brazilian would rather be called a racial slur or literally anything else before being called "latinx" Also everyone pronounces it "latin ecks" which is especially bad because that's an anglicized word. In portuguese, that'd be "latin shiz" which is just stupid. As someone very much latinized and lived for years in Brasil, I'm offended. So respect the culture and STOP your anglo-centric view on things you don't understand.

Nobody's forcing anyone to use the word.

Really?

"Must" = forcing.

no different than you people trying to force a or o when genders should never be assumed therefore x.

I mean no, it clearly doesn't. Look:

You must stand on your head.
You must eat your left shoe.
You must jump off a bridge.

Did any of that work? Were you forced to stand on your head, eat your left shoe and then jump off a bridge?
Interesting. I was wondering what Latinx meant...this being a gaming platform, I assumed it was a Latin superhero crossover :P.

it's the politically correct term to refer to a Latinx.

Forcing - making someone do something against their will. In this case someone is saying you "must" do something or you are offending. Doesn't mean that person is 100% going to do it but they are still forced to or risk social repercussions. That's how the outrage crowd operates and they don't care about the will of the people they supposedly represent (as evident in this thread already).

If you say to me that I must eat my shoe, you're trying to force me to do it but since you aren't standing here and don't have means to actually make me do it I don't think I'll do that.
LatinX is offensive
I find it extremely funny, the Latino community hates the LatinX term, almost nobody uses it yet you have decided to call them that way. It was created by deranged SJWs and now authoritatively used.

Please explain to me what's the logic behind it, because afaik the logic behind "What is your pronoun" agenda is to be able to choose your pronoun and being called by one you wish.

It is not the case here.

Ooh, the sweet hypocrisy. Rules For Thee Not For Me.

And yet the people organizing the event, participating in the event, and who designed the pictures for the event are indeed part of the same community.... You'd think they'd have noticed they were using a term they found offensive hmm?
Not another one of these threads.

Tell it to the organizers, you're not doing a damn thing melting down here.

Some woke moron probably thought it was a good idea. It's sad to see Valve starting to cave in to these "people"

Yeah, welcome within those 2% of progressives who actually use it. Statistics for you, that's why I told specifically that almost nobody uses it.

Doesn't change that you need to complain to the organisers of the game festival. Which is not Valve/Steam.

Steam is giving them a platform to spread their ethnic slur, and they ignore emails sent and if you mention the fact that it's a slur on their twitch they ban you. Racism is not welcome in gaming.
