valve, tell the developers about the "new events system"

The "View News" button is now a "Patch Notes" link that will open an overlay to the most recent relevant patch notes for the game. This will only display for games that have entered patch notes into the new event system.

Valve, it seems plenty of game developers are not yet aware of this feature.
They're still using the News section (example: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/252950/view/2939151018150333683)

Since the new downloads view doesn't link to the old news like the last download view, this is a lack of "backwards compatibility", which is a pity...

Please make the developers better aware of how they should utilise the "new events system".

Also, consider explicitly stating "no patch notes provided", or similar, instead of just... nothingness?
It's more user friendly that way.

Developers not using the new events system does not mean Valve did not tell them.

Steam can tell devs to do something. Devs are reponsible for doing it

For a specific game, they are in the Discussion forums for the game, on the right, in the subforums menu. I can't say all games have that subforum (and no, I am not checking ~50,000 games and apps to see if they all do have it), but that's where you find a quick link to them.
