Automatically Filter Incoming Friend Requests
Good afternoon discussion board -

I'm certain this question or idea has been added to this board before - but I'd like to see steam add a feature where you can choose to auto-ignore friend requests that come in from people who are not mutual friends, or turn off friend requests in general.

Every afternoon when I come home from work, I see 8 to 11 people sending me a friend request. None of them are mutually connected to anyone on my friends list or in any groups that I am in - and this has happened ever since I fell victim to a knife scam a few years back (when I was an idiot).

Setting profile to private does not help. Changing name does not help, changing custom URL does not help. All Third-party APIs have been removed. They still find me, and they still spam friend requests to me. My block list has gotten longer than the friend list.

Someone please - get valve developers on the line. I'm so sick of the constant spam - it's gotten to the point where I don't even have steam open unless I absolutely have to - which never used to be the case. I like steam as a platform but I hate the constant community spam.

Yes, that suggestion has been brought up before.

Don't know why they haven't implemented it yet.

Your Steam level is at 11, you own 13 games, you haven't completed the community badge, and your inventory is modest at best. There is no way you're receiving "8 to 11" friend requests every afternoon. Don't lie to attempt to further a point. Allow ideas to stand on their own merit.
I’ve been getting spammed by friend request for random people from China. Unlike this person I do have tons of games. The point the person above made still stands. There should be a filter system for people to customize themselves, like “filter request by people with names similar to “blank” away” or filter accounts from specific areas unless you friend the person first
We need this ASAP! I too am being flooded by bots trying to add me. I am not in any spam groups, but I possibly have a friend whom added a bot or something, which lead the way to me...

It's 2019 and the suggestion for this was already made way back. Please act @Steam.

You play PUBG, CS:GO and have an open inventory. All of which are entry points for them to toss spam invites your way.

I just had a period with private profile. It made no difference, so spare me the peptalk.
