Add Google Authenticator to 2FA
I suggest you to add Google's Authenticator to 2FA bc the current state of 2FA borderlines with a grand absurd!
A few days ago I changed my phone (the hardware, not the number). Since I sold the old phone I had to make a factory reset on it. And here comes the greatest absurd I have ever seen: Steam Guard logs you out bc it doesn't recognize the device and asks you for the code which is locked inside Steam Guard. If you need an example of what I am talking about: imagine your car needs a specific encrypted launch code broadcasted by your remote control for the car keys. But you locked your keys inside your car by accident. That's the kind of situation the Steam Guard app puts your users in.

So I suggest Google's Authenticator bc it has an option to export all saved profiles to another device. The exporting happens literally with 2 or 3 taps and you don't have to break the windshield in order to get your car keys, if you catch my drift.

When you set up Steam Guard you're provided recovery codes for instances like this. I take it you didn't keep track of them, didn't pay attention to them, and forgot they existed which enables you to imagine whatever nonsense you want. And that's just a way to avoid your situation, there are others covered in help sections which apparently you didn't bother with.

I suggest you get a handle on the system you're using before you start lecturing about it.

Steam Guard > Recovery Codes > Write them down...... or lock yourself out........

1. You're not Steam Support member, so STFU!
2. I had those backup codes on my hard drive but "the best operating system ever" wiped out my hard drive without asking me whether I agree or not (may Bill Gates get Ebola and Corona together!!!) along with the backup codes, so I don't have them anymore.
3. All normal sites support several options/apps for 2FA, not just one.

For the moment I found another way to avoid locking myself out but I still want GA.
And this dumb requirement to have Steam Guard enabled so that I can comment my own topic is epicly stupid!
  1. Well this is a user forum, so... I think you're confused about who will be responding.
  2. Yes, you can add whatever layers of excuses you want for not having backups and not protecting yourself. That's not a Steam problem. That's a you problem.
  3. No they don't. You're making an obviously bogus argument of convenience. Each business is free to operate how they see fit. No one is obligated to use the security you'd prefer no matter how you can imagine "all" other "normal" sites using it.
  4. Steam Guard works fine for tens of millions of users, your issues might just be you.

This is what they are working on...

What's next?

We’re already working on improvements to the Steam Chat app, including voice chat. With Steam Chat moving to its own dedicated app, the original Steam Mobile app will see significant upgrades focused on account security. Our plans include better Steam Guard options to help securely log into your Steam account, such as QR codes and one-touch login, and improved app navigation.

Steam Mobile App - The mobile app is getting a refresh to add more login types and help users secure their accounts.

I use Google's Titan Key so I do not need 2FA codes
This was a user error on your part for not writing down the recovery codes.

Secondly it is irrelevant what you want with regard to GA, as there is no reason for Valve to implement it.

Are you also asking Google to implement Steam guard?
