Make the website login cookie last longer
I hate having to re-login every few days because the cookie has expired, even after clicking "remember me on this computer".

Please, just make the cookie last much longer if the user ticks the "remember me on this computer" box.

30 days MINIMUM, 90 days or infinity would be better.

I think they're talking about the time that the authentication cookie is valid for, not that it is gone because they clear the cookies themselves.

It seems that even if you don't clear out the cookie or manually log out, it will log you out eventually because the cookie is only valid for a certain amount of time, and it is too short.

Yes, exactly that, correct. Login cookie = too short, lengthen time of login cookie.

1 year is a short lifetime?...
Checked my Steam cookies: "sessionid" (guess its an main auth cookie) expire in 1 year, "MachineAuth" (guess its something like hardware binding) expire in 10 years.
I think its a very long lifetime)
Problem isn't in cookies, it seems like sessions resets at server side sometimes (at least 1 time per week I need to relogin at Steam web-site).
Browser: Google Chrome with autoclear options disabled (i clear cache manually with CCleaner).
Btw, in Chrome there is an addon that can modify the expiration date of cookies or freeze them, if you have trouble with cookies in your browser try to find similar addon for it.
